Several teams agree: Josh Simmons had best tape of any OT last year. And they aren't very concerned with recovery on the torn patella tendon. More of the concern is maturity/character. But he's going to the ideal, veteran-laden place.

Well, there you have it. Maybe this is why you can't comprehend anything I said. He's not a "doctor" nor does the team call him one. He's a Certified Athletic Trainer with a Master's Degree. He cannot even legally prescribe medications under most state laws.

He can develop amazing rehabilitation plans and offer an opinion on that. I said that I felt like he was more than qualified to do that with Simmons, but in the end, his opinion really means nothing because Simmons' body means everything.

The team head physician is actually Dr. Michael Monaco and the team's head orthopedic surgeon is Dr. J. Paul Schroeppel. If you want to refer to a doctor, refer to one of them, not Rick Burkholder.

I don't know more than a doctor, I never pretended to. I'm not an athletic trainer. I've stated my qualifications on the matter, which is about 75% of the same coursework as a Bachelor's in Athletic Training since one of mine is in Physical Education. I'm better than the average dumbass but far and away not Rick Burkholder. I also did actually read the study, and judging by your acute acumen, you're not capable.

So one day, when you grow up, maybe you'll now be able to understand my position. Until then, continue pretending not to be the dumbass you are while I continue to state reality whether you ****ing like it or not.

FWIW, Nick Jacobs and Matt Derrick were both at rookie minicamp and said they were surprised how much Josh Simmons did.

It certainly is steering towards them wanting Simmons to be LT1 the same way we saw Kingsley get it last year.

I’m good with it assuming his knee is cleared. He’s a way better prospect than Kingsley ever was.

This all reminds me of Veach's presser where he said Burkholder and the team physicians were initially leery of Simmons' knee (obviously based on what they collectively already knew - including any published studies/data/history on the injury in the NFL/Sports), but after a joint assessment of Simmons knee they dramatically changed their tune and where notably positive about his healing and prognosis.

While we might never know the medical specifics of what sets Simmons apart from the precedent, those specifics apparently altered the collective opinion of the Chiefs training/medical staff enough to endorse him at pick 31/32. That says a TON and the early minicamp reports seem to confirm that.

Veach even mentioned at around the 14:15 mark of the presser that, after the pick, the Chiefs scouts had received word from some other scouting departments that their respective teams were ready to take Simmons early in round 2. So it's likely, some other teams' medical depts felt the same about his knee but felt better taking a swing in the top half of round 2. Either way, I'm Glad the Chiefs pulled the trigger when they did.
