KK obliterated Andy for trading the League’s highest rated passer.

Not sure that counts though.

I doubt a second round pick for Smith would’ve been possible. Any team willing to offer that should just use the pick on an OG without having to write a big paycheck too.

If the Chiefs had a second round offer, they were incredibly stupid to not accept that.

Actually, a lot of people did. It was clear they were trading down with Alex coming off a career year!!!

Narrative changed by Week 2 in 2018, but nonetheless.

I must have tuned that out because I was ready to see Pat Mahomes play and was ready to move on from Alex Smith

Go browse the initial pages of the Mahomes thread. It's filled with people telling QB-skiddish morons to go **** themselves.

Those morons absolutely existed, and the sad part is that Chiefs Planet was kind of a haven away from the majority of these fans. Any other Chiefs place on the internet was full of "I hope we get Reuben Foster!" dolts.

This was also the time when we were still the lovable "At least they tried" Chiefs, so any media coverage we got was, "Yeah, they're pretty good. Anyway, back to the Cowboys and Giants!!" How could you fault these media types for just assuming we were going to only continue to tread water?

Yeah, doesn’t seem to be anything new reading this thread. Just the same old stuff. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m gonna trust Andy and Veatch on this as they’re paid to do a job (by most accounts they’ve done pretty well) and i’m gonna resist the urge to be armchair quarterback.

If he’s ready to go great, if not he’s a hell of a Pan B until he is. Just my two cents.

You know, I hate to say I told you so...

(who am I kidding, I LOVE to say I told you so! LOL)

but plan A is to play Simmons at LT day one, if he's good to go.

Which is what I've been saying since the draft.

Just sayin'. If he's good, he's good to go.

I have my doubts about the pick, but this could be a major piece to the next phase of the dynasty if it works out.

A cheap young LT frees up money for a lot of other talent.

Then, you also have your long term solution when it’s time to pay him.

If he is yes, but I don't expect it with everything considered like straight up beating a newly signed OT to be the starter THIS season.

And that's why its worth the risk.

If the Chiefs figure out the LT position the rest of the league is ****ed. It allows them to pay guys like Creed and Trey Smith. We are also incredibly cheap at the WR position for. couple more years. And to be honest, if they fixed the LT position, everything else is rather easy to deal with.

Finding a RB? Easy, cheap.
Replacing Kelce? Impossible, but Rice has already shown he can be a beast with the underneath stuff.
RT? Again if you hit a LT, you can probably afford to let Taylor play our his entire contract, if you need the money, its an easy cut, and you should know what you have in-house to replace him by the end of the year. Its also a easy position to draft if you had too.

Lets face it. If they hit on Simmons, it just got super easy to keep guys like McDuffie and Karlaftis.
