I can't blame Green, Vermeil, or Carl for any of this. It's just BAD LUCK!!!!!!!

green is doing the best he can with what he has. he had no time with both morton or kenisson during training camp. plus each of them are still not 100% his main hook ups during training camp were Boe, cris wilson, and smith. boe is out for this season and wilson probably out for the majority of the season. smith is a first year rookie that probably needs 2 seasons before he will contribute substantially to the team. then you have the inevitable decline of our O-line with welbourne needing more playing time before he is up to speed. 3 solid years this O line has been the best in the nfl. it was bound to weaken sooner rather than later. then you have TG who is our only reciever right now and he is even playing with a foot that will need surgery during the off season. any team would be out of their heads not double team him and take him out of the game plan which each team we've played has successfully done.

there you have it. although i have had faith that KC will some how pull it out this season and win 11 games now given the above it may be a off year for the chiefs. they will rebound big time next year but the above circumstances may be to much for the coaching staff to overcome this season.

i have not even addressed the glaring problems on D that appear not to improve substantially until we can add more talent during the off season. the good news is we have plenty of draft picks next year so we have better chance of picking up some one good. i'm sure we can make some free agency moves as well both defensively and offensively.

if we can win 10 games it will be (down from my expectation of 12 wins) it will be nothing short of spectacular, and vermeil and company should get the accolades they would deserve for such an achievement.

with all the above we have arguably the toughest schedule in the nfl so winning 10 games could mean a lot come playoff time (if we make it with 10 that is).

all and all I have a wait and see attitude about it. i'm very disappointed with the way things played out before even the season began. it's very unfortunate. we really needed the offense to be at the level they were last year with everyone at or near 100% and players like Boe and kris wilson to add yet another dynamic. even smith could have been more of contributor if there was no pressure for him to be a #1 or #2 WR. Our D had to improve just slightly for us to get over the hump. now it looks like all bets are off!

it truly is disappointing and I can't really blame vermeil and his coaching staff or even Carl for the predicament they are in. it is just BAD LUCK!!!!!!!!!

It is bad luck that the Chiefs had corner and receiver problems the FIRST year Vermeil was here, and we still have the same problems today?

That's piss poor planning and it's piss poor drafting.

But keep making excuses if it makes you feel better why we have tanked the first two games of this season.

it doesn't make me feel any better jerkoff!!!!!!!!!

and furthermore that poor planning and drafting made us #1 scoring offense 2 years in a row. but keep talking if that makes you feel better

Ha, you call me a jerkoff when you've become the biggest running joke on this board, Tom Gash.

You're right. Football is one sided. I guess the Chiefs have been without a defense for so long that they were apart of the team as well.

Ironic quote of the week, from Dick Vermeil (source kcchiefs.com):

“Players win games not coaches.”

Uh huh, that's why we got a defensive coordinator and didn't bother bringing in any new talent.

this thread is not about the D it's about the O. I'm not defending our D. It's still pretty bad. But I don't think we would be 0-2 if our O was back in 2003 form.

You wanted to make it personal with your post not me. Make your point and move on. Stick to the subject. It is not necessary to bring me into the mix. Only jerkoffs do that.

I can place blame on DV because he put players out there that were clearly not ready. Morton was clearly not ready against Denver, and may still not be ready. The injuries have clearly come into play, but made much the worse by the fact that we have little depth at the positions we are hurt at. The fact that we have the same personnel problems in the fourth year either says we don't know how to grade talent, or become too attached to players to tell them they are not succeeding and perhaps should find a new line of work. We need to also stop trying to draft players who can play ok everywhere instead of great at one position. Farging tweeners.

Sorry I don't buy the Morton and Kennison arguement. Green and these two have been together for two years prior to this. They shouldn't need a whole training camp to get timing down.

As much of a Green basher as I am I don't blame him for anything. He's putting the ball on target. It's getting dropped. That's bad coaching.

This brings me to DV to whom I can assign plenty of blame. He's built a hollow team that's rapidly aging. His drafts have been a joke and he clearly has his pets. Flush all that 'profile' talk. He brought a gimmick offense that's getting figured out and he clearly can't deal with making the adjustments needed. He clearly isn't half the talent evalulator he's supposed to be and he's missing out on what small window this empty team of his has.

Check yourself there. Green lost the Carolina game singlehandedly by fumbling and throwing an interception on back to back series.

And he sucked balls against Denver.

Look good in the first half against Carolina. Maybe that was a sign the passing game is coming around.

Trust me I'm no friend of Greens.

The 20 odd yard sack was incredibly stupid for a rookie much less a 10yr(?) vet. I think the int was a bad route but I won't swear to it. Green is NOT helping things but all in all I don't have a major problem with him. His WR's are dropping everything except their bad habits. Even I can't fault Green there.

The biggest problem we have is that DV has built a team that's very thin and getting old. He did it with a win now and to hell with tomorrow concept. He was also banking on the draft to hide the shallowness. His drafts have been monumental jokes and we're starting to pay for it.

Do you understand the meaning of the word "singlehandedly"?

It means "working or done without help. Unassisted"

Do you really think that Trent had no help in losing that game? Here's a hint for the correct answer: nothing in football is done singlehandedly.

You know what I mean. I didn't see Johnnie Morton fumbling or anything. The interception was particularly bad, he threw an out and the receiver had pretty good coverage. That usually equals in interception, especially if the ball is thrown late.

The fumble was horrible. It's supposed to be his only real weakness, but Saunders needs to tell Green to start getting rid of the ball quicker. There's nothing wrong with dumping it off.
