Alright. After dominating #13 ranked Iowa on Heisman mode, I'll give your sliders a whirl. my sliders weren't far off defaults at all. These are a bit more extreme. My next game is a HUGE one, @Texas who is ranked #4.

Not on Heisman.

I've had a theory for several years that with both Madden and NCAA setting any slider to 0 or 20 causes more than just incremental changes in the AI. Normally, it was undesirable to set sliders to 0 (or 20) because it would cause wildly unpredictable results. For instance, in NCAA 2004, lowering Pass Block from 1 to 0 caused the QB to go into "robo" mode.

It doesn't seem to be the case this year. In fact, this year's Heisman is dramatically different (and more open on offense) than any previous year.

Try them out, you'll see what I mean.

Oh, and the reason I set these to zero is because I actually started with all sliders at 0 instead of all sliders at 50.

I'm still trying to figure out the passing game. I can't stand any more "7-26 with 5 INT's" games...

Alright...........The passing game is pissing me off too.

I'm playing Iowa....Tate is a supah-stah....and I'm ending games 3-15 65 yards and 3 back to back to back INTs.

I'm turning the QB acc and WR Catching way up...and the Comp INTs way down.

I'm getting pretty damn tired...pretty quickly, of being up 24 or 28-0 with a minute left before the half..and fumbling for a TD....INT for a TD....fumble......and then losing 42-31

Yeah, there's some of that. I've worked on minimizing it with sliders.

I fought the Catch Up Mode last night, and won... it was beautiful.

I was up 17-3 in the 2nd, and Kentucky, after not completing a pass up to that point, went 4/4 and scored. I drive, score. 24-10.

They drive again, but I stand them up my 3, and they get zero points after failing a fake field goal. Halftime.

I kickoff, they do it again... they've gone from nothing through more than a quarter to the freakin' Chiefs... However, I pick it off at my 10. Drive, 31-10.

Next drive, a little success, but they punt. I return it 89 yards for a touchdown.

Once I stopped them a few times, the flood gates opened... fumble, TD... fumble, TD... another punt return, TD... punt, 80 yard run, TD....

66-10

Yeah, so I was at Kentucky... and while I've blown teams out, it's usually because the catch up mode and/or home field advantage never kicked in. Watching the CPU turn from the Wildcats into the Colts and then stuffing them at the goal line, and then again, and again, and again, is almost better than real football

The part that pisses me off, is the first season...I'm playing on varsity.....and its still happening.

Top notch QBs, with 90+ ratings, don't throw 3 for 15 for 85 yds and 2INTs vs ISU.

Practice practice. sounds like you need to practice the passing game.

Ok....

If I "Practice"...does it just help ME see the open WRs, or will it somehow change the WRs where they can actually catch the passes that bounce off of their fuggin backs, helmets et al?

I wish NCAA and Madden would add a feature like ESPN where you could set the daily-weekly practice schedules....and modify them to work on points of interest.....and also an offseason mode where you determined if they worked on say....strength, speed, endurance....skills.

That would Rule.

What level are you playing on, sounds like WR catch slider might need to go up.

Also, for passing in this game there are 2 rules.

1) Set your feet. If your QB is moving too much, passes will be poor quality and hard to catch even if you hit the WR.

2) Use touch. Don't bullet every pass. You have to know when to lob. The best way to learn this is to go into the passing shell mini-game and play there.

Practice will help these two, as well as getting used to the playbook & knowing when receivers are open.

Do you take control of your receivers when the ball is in the air? If you do, I guess it could just be a timing issue on when to catch the pass, but if you don't, that's probably your biggest problem.

For touch passing practice, the passing shell mini-game is perfect. It actually tells you the quality of your throw.

You might try modifying the slider for "WR catching" or what not.

Do you "bullet" the passes (pressing and holding the passing icon button)? If you finesse it a bit more, it will give your receivers more of a chance to catch the ball.

How are your WR's rated?
