Where where you when JFK Died?

I was in 6th grade at Russell Elementary School in Columbia, Mo. Our teacher left the room, then came in crying and told us what had happened. It was also my mother's birthday, and all she and my grandparents did that night was cry.

I didn't lose it until John-John saluted his father's casket as it went by.

And when I look at what has happened to that family since then, I can only count my humble blessings.

When John Lennon was shot, that was the day the music died.

When JFK was shot, that was the day our innocence died.

Nothing has seemed totally right since then.
