The sad thing is, the main catalyst for all of these "how we can make the play-offs" scenarios is the assumption that we will win a bunch of games at home.
So say we do win all these home games, and make the play-offs. We're just going to have to go on the road in round 1 anyway, and we've yet to beat a good team on the road. I guess if we can win 5 of the next 6, I'll start believing this team is better than what they've shown so far. But in the end I think it ends in disappointment anyway.
