Hawkeyes land top Missouri recruit

Can any MO resident give me some info on this kid? He's supposedly the best D-1 prospect in the state and he just committed to Iowa...

4* -- DE -- Adrian Clayborn -- 6-3 -- 245 -- Webster Groves, MO

Adrian Clayborn: "I believe I have the total package of speed, strength, and explosion," said Clayborn. "I hustle to the ball, and am always around the ball even if it doesn't come in my direction. The one area I need to work on is being able to shed blocks effectively."

Coach's Comments: "Adrian played linebacker as a junior, and laid some great hits," said head coach Cliff Ice. "He projects with his hand down in college, probably defensive end, and he is extremely physical and a punishing hitter. He is very athletic for his size."

Yeah, I've read the scouting reports.

I'm wondering if anyone has actually seen him play.

They did get a WR out of St. Louis to decommit from Oklahoma and go to MU yesterday.

Yeah. Iowa has a pretty big selling point for these kids that fall just under the 5* range, though. Look at all the unheralded/unrecruited kids they're sending to the NFL on the first day of the draft...

I was at the Webster-Eureka Missouri State playoff game that Webster won on a last second FG. The game was played at Eureka which is about 10 minutes from my house.

I didn't realize Webster had any good college prospects so I didn't focus on anyone on their team. I didn't hear Clayborn's name being called, and I didn't see him do anything that would make me take notice, but their defense as a whole was impressive, holding Eureka to 7 points which were scored with about 3 minutes left in the game.
