I thought you had been around long enough to know, but since you don't seem to realize it, around here, irregardless of what the thread header says, in any post after the initital post everything is open game.

And I was posting in the lull between getting everyone in place for Sunday School and Church.

Actually, even a loss to KS may be the best thing for the Tigers. The program is taking a lot of heat right now. The more heat, the closer things will be looked at, and the more apt changes could occur. Currently, the AD's job is quite unstable. And according to news reports coming out of Columbia, the curators aren't too happy with things and are launching their own investigation. Could it be that even Floyd could be in the hot seat now? Things could get interesting and having MU's most hated rival handle our team like this can only help right now.

At this point in the season, at least for a few seasons now, MU didn't have anything to play for. I guess you could say beating KU at home on the last game of the reg season is kinda something to play for, but there's no end result of that matter. I think every player on MU would rather go on to postseason play in the NCAA tourney than rather beat KU at home, and if that statement is wrong, it's really sad.

Holy shit waddya know....An MU guard that does nothing but chuck up 3's all day and has a lucky day of not missing. 21 points coming from 3's, wow I believe that sounds a lot like Thomas Gardner. Thats just typical MU basketball under the Quin era. I remember that game. Quins first game against KU I think. Gilbert had a hot hand. That year was a shitty year for KU. Good lord, Chenowith, Earl, Gregory, that team was trash. The only irony to that is that MU would have loved to have a season like that, even though that was a somewhat down season for KU.

I don't know, I imagine you've probably been on some sports teams in your life. Probably some good, some bad right? And on those bad teams didn't you still go out every time wanting to win and fighting to do so? If you can't play for pride then somethings wrong. Even without hope for a postseason at this point as a player you should still go out there and play your ass off if for no other reason than you don't want to be embarassed.

So I guess players in this situation wouldn't mind getting their asses handed to them by their hatred rival???? Cmon man, I dont know of any team or players in any sport for that matter enjoy getting their asses kicked by their hatred rival, regardless of the circumstances. From what I hear from a couple of MU players (Grimes and Gardner), many players bascially quit on him during practices and lost total faith of what he was wanting to establish. The players lost hope in Quin. IMO, I'd say thats a case in which they would approve of Quin leaving. Revolting against a school who is paying them to play a game they love, and in most cases is the only thing they know how to do just because, of a coach thats leaving because of the lack of faith the players have in the coach? pffff.

That's what Im saying though. In respone to someones post of saying that they bascially didnt have anything to play for. I say thats a bunch of BS. No player likes or takes pride in losing, at least they shouldnt. PastorMike is making an argument that the players "accepted" losing the game before it even started.

I don't think the team this year really understands how great they can make themselves yet. Last season with Simien, Miles, and Langford, everyone thought for sure that they would be a lock for the Final Four. Sometimes when you have stuff like that planeted in the teamand in their heads, the team doesnt as play well, therefore losing to Bucknell.

That team was trash?

Boschee, Gooden, Collison, & Hinrich? It would be interesting to see if your fellow KU fans would agree that team was trash...I agree it was a "down year" for KU, but I would't say the team was trash.

I don't care that the schmucks mailing the rest of this season in quit a long time ago. Forget them. At least now we can think about the future, the program getting better wheras for the last several years all we were thinking was who Snyder was blowing to still be employed.

Rush is the lynchpin, after he goes to the NBA, it's a question of if anybody will step in to replace him.

I have nothing but love for Kareem, but both of the older Rush kids were all about the NBA. I wouldn't expect Brandon to be any different. I'd bet he is gone after next year at best.
