IMHO yards don't matter as much as points allowed. The top 6 year to date:

1 Chicago 7.2
2 Denver 8.5
3 San Diego 9.0
4 Baltimore 9.2
5 Atlanta 10.5
6 Kansas City 13.0

Agreed. thats the most important stat of all. Yardage can be skewed, especially during blowout games when top D's give up alot of "garbage time" yards.

In that case, we had a 10-20 rank from 03-05.

What do you say? No punts forced in a playoff game worthy of an 18th rank?

Good point. It seems like half the time 60% of stastics are only 70% accurate.

That's what Grob used to preach and we all know how well that worked out.

Like most DCs Grob believed it was crucial to get his D off the field as quickly as possible in order to give the ball back to his O.

Most DCs attempt to accomplish returning the ball to their O via punt. Grob accomplished it via kickoff.
