Agreed. thats the most important stat of all. Yardage can be skewed, especially during blowout games when top D's give up alot of "garbage time" yards.

I agree that points allowed is the only stat that matters, however it doesn't take into account turnovers. If the O turns the ball over in their own territory and the D holds em to a field goal, the yards gained is more indicative of the defense than points scored.

There's caveats in both stats.
