So I'm considering another career change.

What could a former Marine/network engineer/remodeler/charity president/message board guy do with his life? I can do sales and I like helping people.

I want to make $250k but I'd consider opportunities starting at $75k. Heh.

Any serious ideas?

Phobia, if you're good at fixing things up, you could combine a couple of el borracho's ideas and get into real estate in general:

1) Become an agent
2) Buy properties and fix them up for resale
3) Buy properties and rent them because you can do your own maintenance

What ever happened with your idea of flipping or buying remodeling & renting? I told you I can get you set up with financing and such.

Like KC Jones... I wouldn't become a real estate agent. Market is horrible. Everyone & their mother are real estate agents now because of the last 5 years. Houses are staying on the market longer than forever.

Anyhow... Building wealth through real estate is rule #1 in the build net worth handbook.

My get rich quick scheme would be to open up the old Mill Creek building down in Westport and call it Tailgaters. Have BBQ & make it a sports bar with a tailgating theme. LCD's everywhere. Even in every booth. Just think... NCAA's BUSY. Royals games... Maybe busy. NFL season (you'll have Sunday Ticket (Extremely busy). SUperbowl & Final Four (EXTREMELY/VERY busy) [end dreams].

Pay local radio stations to broadcast out of there for advertisement.

I haven't read the replys, but have you thought about maybe sending your resume to 810 or 610 or trying to get ahold of them somehow? Wouldn't hurt.

I hear the guys at intersections holding those "Will Work for Food" signs do pretty good. It might be a little hard for you to post from "work" though.

I saw one in OK City at an intersection with a work-for-food sign and not even a half a block down was a guy sitting next to the road with a sign on his truck saying "Workers Needed!"

My guys work 5 day weeks and MOST have scruples. I tend to hire men with principles. And yes there CAN be good money in it.
