Super Bowl trivia

Too damn cold to venture out so I'm staying put today thought some of you might want to kill a little time as we wait for the HOF announcement.

No rules to the game,just post a question and see if it can be answered.

1. NFC East (10). Dallas has won five Super Bowl titles, Washington has won three, and the Giants have won two.

2. Gene Upshaw, as a member of the Raiders in Super Bowls II (1968), XI (1977), and XV (1981).

3. Roger Craig. Although he played on three championship teams with the 49ers in the 1980s, he was never MVP.

4. Dallas Cowboys, 8. The Cowboys' last appearance was in Super Bowl XXX, a 27-17 victory over Pittsburgh.

5. Arizona, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Jacksonville, New Orleans, Seattle.

6. Deion Sanders. Sanders was part of the 1992 Braves that lost to the Blue Jays in the World Series, before winning back-to-back Super Bowl rings as a member of the 49ers (Super Bowl XXIX) and Cowboys (Super Bowl XXX).

7. The Steelers led 2-0 at halftime of Super Bowl IX.

21. Miami Dolphins, 14. The Dolphins beat the Redskins, 14-7, in Super Bowl VII to cap their undefeated 1972 season.

22. The Ravens' Jermaine Lewis, who returned a kickoff 84 yards for a TD against the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. Interestingly, that play came only seconds after Ron Dixon returned a kickoff 97 yards for a New York touchdown.

23. Lawrence McCutcheon on a 24-yard pass to Ronnie Smith.

24. Michael Irvin caught 19-yard and 18-yard TD passes from Troy Aikman, helping Dallas take a 28-10 halftime lead.

25. The 49ers are a perfect 5-0 in Super Bowl play. The Ravens, Bears, Jets and Buccaneers are all 1-0.

26. Reggie White of the Packers had three sacks against New England in Super Bowl XXXI.

27. The 1980 Oakland Raiders. The Raiders defeated Houston, Cleveland and San Diego in the AFC playoffs before beating the Eagles in Super Bowl XV.

28. Matt Bahr. His field goal with 7:40 remaining in the fourth quarter put the Giants ahead, 20-19.

29. Dick Vermeil, 19 years. Vermeil coached the Eagles to Super Bowl XV and the Rams to Super Bowl XXXIV.


Corey Dillon ran 18 times for 75 yards and that go-ahead touchdown in Super Bowl XXXIX.
30. Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys scored 31 points in their loss to Pittsburgh in Super Bowl XIII.

31. Andre Reed, Bills. Reed had 27 career Super Bowl catches.

32. Weeb Ewbank. In fact, Ewbank's 73 wins in his 11-year tenure (1963-73) still stands as a Jets record.

33. Trent Dilfer. He completed 12 of 25 passes for 153 yards, including a 38-yard TD pass to Brandon Stokley.

34. McGee had seven catches against the Chiefs in Super Bowl I, including two that went for touchdowns.

35. Miami. While Minnesota and Buffalo are both 0-4, and Denver has a 2-4 mark, the Dolphins are 2-3 in their five Super Bowl appearances.

36. Tom Flores. Flores was a member of the Super Bowl IV champion Chiefs and coached the Raiders to the Super Bowl XV title.

37. Tom Brady. He completed 32 passes in the Patriots' victory over Carolina in Super Bowl XXXVIII.

38. Stanford Jennings on a 93-yard kickoff return that gave the Bengals a 13-6 lead.

39. The Miami Dolphins were held to just a field goal in their 24-3 loss to Dallas in Super Bowl VI.

40. Matt Millen won as a member of the Raiders (Super Bowls XV and XVIII), the 49ers (Super Bowl XXIV), and the Redskins (Super Bowl XXVI).
