A few years back (8 or so) I bought a set of clubs from some guy. They are basically an off-brand that I bought to use while I learned to lay, before dropping tons of money on nicer clubs. I spent a couple of years teaching myself to play (against the advice of anyone who I had ever discussed it with).
But the "teaching myself" thing has never worked out real well (surprise!). This year, my wife and I are finally going to invest in some lessons. We'll see how those work out, and I may upgrade to an actual brand of clubs.
