Green is good enough to lead the Chicago Bear to a Super Bowl victory ... maybe multiple ... that's worth a 2nd rounder to them. Miami ...... a 3rd conditional to a 2nd Green is a solid QB and a good leader .... great chemistry guy. If you have a good team and needs someone of character at the helm then Green is worth it. if your team is young and rebuilding then you don't want Green at all.

How many teams are ready though to send a R2 (conditional R1) pick to KC for Green? There just aren't too many openings available for that price on a guy that old, especially that are 1 or 2 players away from winning a title.
CHI has too much $ and recent picks invested in the QB position to invest another 1st day pick on a QB that old.

the conditional part will be there because Carl with want to save face and leave some room for ambiguity. disagree about chicago ..... they are in their window. They dick around too much and they will miss it. They need a QB and they need one now. Green is a proven guy who won't screw things up ...... Chicago doesn't have a guy like that now. a 2nd round pick is worth it for a legit chance at the next 3 super bowls.

![]() Green is a slow starter ... he typically takes 2/3 games to really get started. He also takes a quarter to get started each game. he got hurt after 1 game .... then game back and had to restart again. With Herm's wonderful offense he never was really able to get that 1st quarter rhythm going because of our run, run, pass, punt approach. last year was not a fair evaluation of Green i believe we will find now that most QB's look pretty crappy when playing for the Hermanator.

I think maybe you're so focused on Peterson/Herm that you're not seeing Green's play for what it was last year. He played well in exactly one game, his third after the injury (Cleveland). He was awful in the two before that, he was awful in the 5 after that. That's a half a season of bad play. It wasn't a week or two. And I don't think it was a rhythm thing. He was making bad decisions and poor throws week after week. He looked like an even worse version of himself from 2001. I'm sure that Solari was a part of that, I'm sure that the line was a part of that, I'm sure that the receivers were a part of that. I'm also, however, sure that Green himself is a part of that, and I think maybe the biggest part. He's 37. He's even less mobile now than before, and it's only going to get worse. He's had a serious head injury. He's not the same player he was, physically or mentally. You could see it in the way he looked on the field and in the pocket. Personally, I think he's done. He looks to me a lot like Kurt Warner did when he fell off the map. It's a shame. I think he's a great guy. |

You may try to bend the 'Skins over somehow, but we're currently busy with them so you'll have to wait for sloppy seconds. |

Green's not worth anything with his age matched with his contract matched with his shitty post-concussion play last year. I'd say we'd be fortunate to get a 5th. We're talking about starting Croyle over him. If we see him that way, why in the hell would any team give up anything of value for a 37-year old backup...

Trent Green, Kendra Bell, Ron Edwards, and William Bartee to Miami for this year's 2nd and 5th round and a conditional 2008 4th/5th round pick depending upon the performance of Green, Bell, and Bartee.
Miami trades Green and Ronnie Brown to Chicago for Cedric Benson and Chicago's 1st round pick. Chiefs then ship Larry Johnson to Cleveland for Cleveland's 1st round pick and a conditional 3rd round pick in 2008. Chiefs get another 1st rounder in 2007 and pick up Adrian Peterson. They also get an additional 2nd and 5th round pick this year's draft; as well as 2 conditional picks in 2008.
