The worst possible pick...

Of the players projected to go in the first round, which player would be the worst possible pick Carl could make at #23? Please only list players who have been projected as first round picks in at least one reputable publication.

Anybody that thinks Posluzny would be the worst possible pick is crazy, IMO.

Is he our biggest need? No. But what you get with Posluzny is a guy like Hali but with superior instincts and superior leadership. If a team is sincere about building a defense, he'd be a very solid, safe pick. But he probably won't be there, anyway. If he is and we don't pick him I'll bet he goes to NE right after us.

I'm not pushing for him but I wouldn't be diappointed to see him line up behind Allen. I'm not sold that any Ts, CBs, or DTs left at 23 will be worth the first pick. The only receiver I'm sold on is Meachem. Ginn has awesome ability but can he be a polished receiver? So, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to reach for a need when there's a ten-year starter staring you in the face.

Maybe we'll trade down.

Pos may have the desire and heart of Hali, but he just doesn't have the physical skills. I can't imagine spending a 1st-round pick on him...

This shows that you have never seen him play. I work with an Ohio State fan so and we always watched OS games.

Ginn is a freaking monster. I would LOVE to see Croyle to Ginn for the TD!!! This would be a GREAT pickup for KC at 23... though I think he will be gone by 15 at the latest.

You may be right but I don't think so. He's a football player. And when you're talking about defense, that's what you want. It seems to me that production is the name of the game on defense. And Posluzny produces. I remember how badly I wanted Spielman back in the day.

The great thing about these kind of debates is that time will tell.

Yes, mostly true.

So what's your take, is every draft site on the intranet just wrong about him? He's a polished route runner? Great hands? Beats the jam at the LOS? Great blocker? Doesn't just simply try to outrun everyone? Won't have any problem adjusting to the next level when he can't just outrun everyone?

You've seen him often, I haven't. Help a brutha out.

I am a die hard Buckeye fan, I have been my enitre life. Ginn is a very good reciever, he is definetely a good pick at 23, he has solid hands and runs very good routes, and is just plain fast. He doesnt give up on plays and he blocks down field with some of the best of them. If Croyle could throw to Ginn that would make for a fun season to watch as Ginn is so hard to over throw although Troy Smith did a few times as he has a rocket for an arm. I agree with you Vegas_Dave.

I havent seen any draft sites that are down on him. Most I see have him going anywhere from #11 to #30 in the draft.

In my opinion:

Pros: Great Hands, Great Speed, Excellent release of the LOS - Doesnt TRY to outrun everyone, that just seems to happen naturally.

Cons: Blocking ability is really an unknown - since he was not commonly used in that role.

He is a true play maker. He made Troy Smith look like a star. When he got hurt in the championship game, Troy Smith flopped miserably.

I think that a player like Ginn makes the team around him better. I think he can help Brodie Croyle develop by giving him a deep go to guy that can come up with the ball. He stretches the field which will make Gonzalez better by spreading the defense thus allowing Tony G to be more open.

KC needs a Speed WR that can make plays. We supposedly had speed with the various young guys over the years, but I have yet to see that materialize. I do not think that it will be an issue with Ginn.
