How bad is Wiegmann??

Seriously?? Talk about just getting your ass completely handed to you. This guy has gotten a weekly shit-kicking for the last two years now. Thanks for the memories, dude, but you are freaking terrible right now.

Watching him try and take on the Williams boys today was like watching Duran get beaten into reerunation by Thomas Hearns.

If Brodie turns out to be a good QB then I think the priorities are something like this.

1) OT
2) RG
3) C
4) WR
5) DB

I don't think they'd draft this way though. Free agency would be good for an OT and Will Shields was drafted at OG in the 3rd. I think KC goes 6-10 or 7-9 and gets a good pick slot.

My dream scenario would be

1) OT - Free agent RT
2) RG - Free agent
3) WR - 1st round
4) C - 2nd round
5) DB - 3rd round

Depth and quality back ups in later rounds for MLB, Safety and FB (I love Boomer but yikes he's not even suiting up).

I'd trade Chris Wilson as I don't see him as the heir apparent to Tony G.

I still don't think Welborn is all that bad, having a better C and RT would help him a little too. What sucks is all of these positions we get(if we draft them) most likely wont be first round talents.

I don't know about Welbourn. He doesn't move all that well anymore and his strength is ok but not dominant since he's off the juice. He's getting old as well.

Thats what I was thinking, draft the stud LT and move McIntosh to right. I liked what I saw in Taylor in the preseason. I think he could be a pretty good guard.

I'm all for a new line (besides Waters and McIntosh), it will probably take a couple years though, and we will have to live with some of the people we have and want replaced at least for another year or two.

I think you can get a damn good center at the top of the 2nd round or the very bottom of the first. If KC tanks this year and only wins 5 games we'll have good placement. I don't know who the best Centers are though. I still like the idea of making the first round pick a skill position guy on Offense or a shutdown corner.

The Top 14 Centers, as of now, per NFL Draft Countdown:

1. John Sullivan Notre Dame 6-4 290 4.95
2. Cody Wallace Texas A&M 6-4 294 5.25
3. Steve Justice Wake Forest 6-4 284 5.20
4. Kory Lichtensteiger Bowling Green 6-3 300 5.15
5. Mike Pollak Arizona St. 6-4 292 5.00
6. Doug Legursky Marshall 6-3 311 5.00
7. Eric Scott Kentucky 6-5 275 4.95
8. John Masters Michigan St. 6-4 288 5.25
9. Adam Spieker Missouri 6-3 305 5.15
10. Drew Miller Florida 6-5 304 5.25
11. Tony Brinkhaus Minnesota 6-3 295 5.25
12. Trevor Rees Northwestern 6-2 280 5.05
13. Jeff Cavender Boise St. 6-2 287 5.10
14. Robbie Krutilla Western Michigan 6-3 314 5.25

Given Herm's predilection for buttsex, we better get a center who is at least 290+ and strong as an ox.

Wiegmann is in his 14th year, yes I said 14th. Our O-line is ancient:

Turley - 9th season
Waters - 8th season (didn't start in 1st year and only started half the season in year 2)
Welbourn - 9th season
McIntosh - 8th season
Wiegmann - 14th season (although he didn't start the 1st 4 years)

That's some pretty high mileage.

I couldnt agree more.

All of the offseason talk about "he'll be an upgrade over the aging Shields" was a lot of hopelessly wishful thinking.

He cant shine Wills shoes & really, the whole line has gone soft...only able to do a decent job of pass-blocking. Since when has KC not been able to run???

OMG.
