The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

When making your selection, please list the player's name, his position and the school he played for. Not everyone has the same level of knowledge about prospects, and this information will help people who want to research these players further.

Also, if you would, please tell us your reasoning for selecting the player you did. It doesn't have to be a novel, just give some insight on your thought process.

Let's have some fun.

Wow Lofton still available. He should be a very good pick now. Linebackers are moving slowly in this draft. Also Brandon Flowers is crying in the green room now. Somebody needs to mercy pick him soon.

Flowers is ranked 10 in 12 in corner rankings by alot of places.....his stock goes all the way from low first to end of the 3rd...so it's not really that surprising.

Agreed but I do think that he can improve on his combine numbers. There were 300lbs defensive linemen that out jumped him for crying out loud.

Now the Lions are an ascending team that still has a pretty iffy defense. That defense has a gigantic hole right in the middle of its DL now that NT Shaun Rogers is gone. If the Lions want to be competitive this year, and they probably believe they can be in this NFC, they need not just any NT to anchor that DL, but a stud NT.

There really aren't any good NTs left in free agency, and there's really just one potential stud in this entire draft. A&M's Red Bryant seems to be the only potential franchise NT available. Now by my measures, he's strictly 3rd round value, but seeing how this is a serious need for the Lions (who seem to believe they are only a couple pieces away) and that there's no depth at all at this position, reaching for Red Bryant with their pick is really the only massive reach in this Draft that I'd support.

But that's BigRock's decision, not mine. They could use Lofton to man down MLB or even Abidi or Henderson for the SOLB.

Hmm. HMM.

I identified offensive line and cornerback as the two key areas of need for the Lions. The line was addressed with Clady in the first. I didn't bring up the MLB spot, but the Lions are running a Cover 2 now and I don't think Paris Lenon is suited for that spot much more than Kawika was for the Chiefs. Plus, his name is Paris, get that weak stuff outta here.

I've got Curtis Lofton just sitting there. But they really and truly have no corners, and even though they aren't as big a need in a Cover 2, it's hard to pass on the value at this point. And Marinelli isn't a defensive backs guy, so he might not be as confident in being able to grab CBs later like Herm and Dungy are.

With the 45th pick, the Detroit Lions select...

CB Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech

Yeah, Lofton isn't really a Cover 2 MLB anyway.

I still think I would have opted for either Abidi or Henderson at OLB, though. Hell I might have just reached for Bryant but there is a *chance* he's sitting there for them in the 3rd.

The Lions probably think they're set at CB; I know it was a hug weakness for them but they've done a whooooole lot to address it this offseason, adding Leigh Bodden and Brian Kelly and re-signing Travis Fisher and Keith Smith. I don't see them drafting CB early after all that activity.

These guys are mostly warm bodies, though. Reading what Lions fans have to say, they mocked the re-signings like we'd laugh about re-signing William Bartee. And Kelly has hardly played the last few years. Bodden is the only one they seem remotely positive about.

They definitely still view CB as a need.

This was a head vs. heart decision for me. Going into the season I liked John Carlson as the #1 TE coming out. After the season, eh. Was it poor play around him that affected his production? That probably had something to do with it. The kid has receiving skills and is a vocal leader. I wanted to pick him, I really did. However after the season came to an end Martellus Bennett was the top tight end in my eyes. He's a physical freak at his size and with experience will become a red-zone nightmare. With more speed than Carlson, Bennett seems better equipped to exploit the seam against a Cover 2. My heart said Carlson but my head makes the pick:

With the 46th pick in the Chiefsplanet Draft the Bengals select Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M

Good deal.

Glad I got my pick in before I left, we got 5 more picks in.

BTW, Dayton is a shithole.

Wright State University looks nice though. Right across the street.
