****Official 2008 CP Mock Draft Picks Thread****

The following trades have effected the draft order:

Corey Williams to Cleveland for a R2 pick.

Shaun Rogers to Cleveland for a R3 pick.

Kris Jenkins to the Jets for a R3 pick.

Marcus Stroud to the Bills for a R3 pick.

Redskins to Broncos. The Washington Redskins traded their fourth-round selection in 2008, and their third-round selection in 2007 (used to select Ryan Harris) to the Denver Broncos as part of a three-team trade in which Washington received T.J. Duckett and Atlanta received Ashley Lelie. (This was the result of a formula which could have had Denver and Washington swapping 2007 first-round selections.)

Saints to Jets. The Saints traded their fourth-round selection in 2008 to the Jets, for Jonathan Vilma.

Jets to Panthers. The New York Jets traded their third-round and fifth-round selections to the Carolina Panthers in a deal that sent Kris Jenkins to New York.

Dolphins to Chiefs. Miami (conditionally) traded its fifth-round selection in 2008 to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Trent Green. The selection would have become a fourth-round selection if Green had met certain performance criteria.

Bears to Bills. Chicago (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Buffalo in exchange for Darwin Walker. The round of the selection may change, depending on Walker's playing time.

Panthers to Bears. The Carolina Panthers traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Chicago in exchange for Chris Harris.

Raiders to Broncos. Oakland (conditionally) traded their fifth-round selection in 2008 to Denver in exchange for Gerard Warren.

Bills to Jaguars The Buffalo Bills traded a 3rd and 5th round selection to the Jacksonville Jaguars in return for DT Marcus Stroud.

Seahawks to Browns. The Seattle Seahawks traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Cleveland in exchange for Charlie Frye.[24]

Packers to Giants. The Green Bay Packers traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the New York Giants in exchange for running back Ryan Grant.

Broncos to Rams. Denver traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to the St. Louis Rams for defensive tackle Jimmy Kennedy.[26] The trade occurred after the Broncos had tried to trade the same pick to Miami for defensive tackle Dan Wilkinson; that trade was voided.

Browns to Eagles. Cleveland traded their sixth-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for center Hank Fraley. The trade was conditional on games started by Fraley, and could have fallen to a seventh-round pick, but Fraley started all 16 games.

Cowboys/Dolphins swap. The teams swapped their sixth-round selections in a trade involving Jason Ferguson.

Jaguars to Vikings. Jacksonville traded their sixth-round selection for Troy Williamson.

Texans to Broncos. Houston traded their sixth-round pick for Chris Myers.

Steelers to Falcons. The Pittsburgh Steelers traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Atlanta for kick/punt returner Allen Rossum.

Seahawks to Eagles. Seattle traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Philadelphia for fullback Josh Parry.

Eagles to Bills. Philadelphia traded their seventh-round selection in 2008, and defensive tackle Darwin Walker, to Buffalo for linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb.

Rams to Vikings. St. Louis traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Minnesota for offensive tackle Adam Goldberg.

Giants to Chiefs. The New York Giants traded their seventh-round selection in 2008 to Kansas City for kicker Lawrence Tynes.

Vikings to Jets. Minnesota traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to the Jets in exchange for Brooks Bollinger.

Bengals to Rams. Cincinnati traded their seventh-round pick in 2008 to St. Louis in exchange for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The Colts have a few holes to fill on their roster with the loss of Jake Scott and the release of Anthony McFarland and Rob Morris. Also, as the injury to Freeney showcased, they don't have much depth in the pass rush.

The Colts believe they can fill the need at guard with a later pick in the draft. OLB is tempting as well. Erin Henderson is the best left on the board but he is not a great fit in Indianapolis' Cover 2 scheme. Also, Dungy can find gems later in the draft. The Colts were hoping to have Cliff Avril fall to the end of the second but he was snatched up. The Colts found some gems at DT in Quinn Pitcock and Ed Johnson last year but lack depth and it showed when they wore down in the playoffs against the Chargers.

I think Green bay could go a few different ways here, no doubt they need a RB Mecca, but they need to have more depth at DB and QB too. OL might not even be a bad choice, but I truely don't know as much as others here about the talent that's left.

My gut says QB - get young talent to keep A. Rodgers progressing (if he has) bringing in a Vet that could win the starting position would really F with Rodger's mind and would be a worse choice than drafting another QB and then getting a Free Agent RB.

What's sorta talking me out of picking Chad? In Feb. the pack signed two young FA QBs. was that just to find some depth, or a pre-emptive move preparing for Farve's retirement?

I was on a Colts board and they said both guys that picked up last year were serviceable, but they needed someone who could penetrate. Nobody was saying anything bad about him there.

Henne's a decent pick. Wouldn't have been mine, but like I said before if the Packers see something in him that I haven't, which is entirely possible considering how incredible their QB grooming program is, he's not that bad of a pick.

I'm thinking htis goes back to the secondary for this pick, but Jamaal Charles or Chris Johnson are there for the taking.

you aren't the only one thinking that about Morgan. For the panthers I was gonna probably chose him in the third. He is a first round talent but with late round probs. He takes plays off, is out of position a lot of the times, and can't takle too good. I love him but our own bonecrusher safety seems a carbon copy of him. Hopefuly Pollard learned something last year and is gonna be better this year. I remember Woods and Tounge played as youngsters and didn't look too great . Then they came back the next year and were awesome hopefuly the same thing happens with pollard.

not sure bout Henne at times he is great but let me ask you this if he's so great why did michigan not do better with him? Maybe its lack of talent but it's michigan they can get anybody to play for them and they usually do.

I've not said anything like this but when I was getting ridiculed about the Brohm pick I've seen almost all of these qbs in action and I'm not that impressed.

and to Brohm looked horrible this year but previously was a three year starter has won big games without great talent around him that a usc and michigan have.

He has to learn a new offense and gets creamed cause Kragenthorpe is an awful coach.

a year ago he is mentioned as the second or third qb in the 2007 draft if he comes out now he's gonna fall why because of one bad season?

if brohm falls to the second round whoever gets him got the steal of the draft.

I hope if he is there when the chiefs pick we take him. I love croyle but this guy is too good to pass on twice.

Anyway with Morgan here's what you have, you have a guy with ridiculous natural talent and huge upside. He could easily become one of the best guys in the league at his position, at the absolute very worst, he's a special teams ace.

Pollard's already a special teams star and it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he improves as a safety. The Chiefs drafted him about the same spot as Morgan went in our mock. Why all the hate?

I like Morgan more as a pure safety, his speed and range on the field are better. he's also 25lbs ligher than Pollard is.

I still to this day view Pollard as a hybrid guy that if he wasn't a starter you could get great value out of. Special teamer, hybrid LB/Safety. Hell I think Pollard could be a damn good Nickel LB, but in order to do all that other stuff you'd need another guy that can play safety.
