I love mecca's 1st and 3rd round picks. I also understand what happened in the 2nd, but if thats the case I home we trade down and grab an additional pick and slide back and target CB or Oline with that pick

I'm with you about Mecca's 1st and 3rd round picks. I'm wondering if Nicks was there in the 2nd.....whether Mecca would have taken him.

I also think that this is why you have to pick Jake Long if he is on the board in R1. If the Rams and Dolphins f=draft a position other than OT you know that they will be looking that direction at the top of R2. So you either have to take the OT in R1 or be willing to trade up in to the bottom of R1 to grab one.

Mecca- Love the pick. Great athleticism and size, just a little raw. If there is one thing I really trust Herm to do its coach DB's.

I' m starting to lose faith in our front office we may have on our hand the worst team in the NFL.
If we don't draft good here gentleman and ladies this could set us back two or three years. I"m not trrying to freak people out but I don't like what i'm hearing from herm and company. we are gonna build our team through the draft. Are we starting a bunch of rookies then??? The way this draft is gonna fall is scaring me too . I 'm starting to think jake long doesn't make it to us. Then what do we do trade down? Draft best available? Reach for Need? some of these mocks have us reaching for OTah or Claddy personally I hate both these picks. Otah is too high in his stance it scares the crap out of me that he could be bull rushed. Cladly has no heart that is a scary proposition too. He half speeds it. so we don't take O line what do we do take McKelvin? great athelete returner but as it's been said on here many times cb's are not important to the cover 2. So who does that leave? ryan ? if we draft him I could be done with this team for a while. I think he is overated I think he isn't as good as his press clippings suggest. Maybe not as bad as blackledge but i see as a pretty good qb. I'm sorry with the fith pick he better be elway, or manning, or bledsowe type franchise qb. Not when we could get brennan, brohm, or henne later who will probably be better qbs than him eventually. so now we go DT? yes we need depth there but how the heck do we know what we have in tyler or McBride yet? personally I go best available talent hopefully on Offense but if not D is good. this team is not good enough to pass on playmakers if someone is there that is a game changing player we have to take them no matter what position. this is just my opinion sorry if some disagree |

There are OT's that are still going to be available in rounds 4 and 5 that I rate equally and in some cases better than the guys who are going to go right here, so it didn't make sense to me to take one here.

William Bartee never once in his life had Kings talent...have you ever read his scouting report. The deep corner year hurts him in most years he'd easily go in the first 40 picks, in some years in the 1st round...
Here look.. Height: 5-107/8 | Weight: 192 | 40-Time: 4.31 Strengths: Smooth athlete...Good size and bulk...Outstanding speed with a burst...Fluid and flips his hips well...Quick and agile with excellent feet...Excellent hands...A reliable tackler...Has a lot of experience against elite competition...Very smart and a hard worker....Versatile and can also contribute as a return man...Has a ton of upside. Weaknesses: Not very strong or physical...Struggles with big wideouts...Raw and needs a lot of work when it comes to technique..Has a long memory...Sub par ball skills and isn't much of a playmaker...Questionable awareness and instincts...Underachiever who does not play to his measurables...Might lack a fire in his belly...Workout Warrior? Notes: Stepfather, Terry Smith, was a wide receiver at Penn State from 1988-91...One of the nation's premier recruits coming out of high school...Three-year starter in the Big Ten...Was able to graduate from college in just 35 months..Also saw extensive action at wide receiver early in his career...A finesse corner with all of the physical tools you look for but something seems to be missing...An enigma who could be a stud if the light ever comes on but he will need a lot of coaching..."Boom or Bust". He has pro bowl level physical skills, this is the 3rd round and Herm is our coach if there's one position to ever trust him with... |

ok mecca fair is fair I like groves. I'm a bama fan as most on this board know and means I hate auburn as most of ku fans hat MU player. that pick is spot on.
Ellis I'm not sure . I live in CA and seen alot of games he seems to disapear in certain games don't know why. He could be overshadowed cause of all the talent playing at USC. The only good thing is I asked a USC fan that came into my hotel about him when i saw we might draft him. i asked is he any good and he said yes he's like a warren sapp when he was in tampa he gets into the back field. so while I wonder Ellis could be a good pick but what if we allready have that in Tyler? we need depth but can't we get that later in the draft? the db pick I don't like not who is left on the board . There is 2nd round tallent still sitting here I think you have king too highly rated. nfl countdown says he lacks the killer instinct and doesn't play up to his potential. boom or bust player. so I'm sorry but I disagree with this pick when we could've taken a better player with what's available. |

Who's better? Justin King never falls to this pick in mocks he always goes in the 2nd, so he is also one of the falling 2nd round talents...
Sedrick Ellis and Tank Tyler are not remotely the same kind of player. Tyler will never be a penetrator or making plays in the backfield. Tyler is a big fatty that holds guys up at the line. Completely different kind of players, they'd probably compliment each other more than anything. I'm sorry that I'm not going to reach for an OT because of Brodie Croyle, that OT is a project too, who do you trust this team more with a CB or an OT to me that's an easy call... Not to mention I have several OT's rated almost exactly the same and several of them will still be available rounds later. |

You do realize that Elway, Manning and Bledsoe all went #1 overall? QB prospects like them don't last to the fifth pick.

If you ask me, the Patriots' choice here is really obvious to me.
The third best OLB prospect for the 3-4 is still on the board. Shawn Crable is a crazy ass deal for the Patriots right now at one of their most valued positions, and I think they'd be wise to go with it, especially since they're going to need to replace Colvin. He's also the BPA, in my opinion. Earl Bennett also makes some sense because he's the savvy kind of route-runner that Brady loves to throw to. There are also a ridiculous wealth of LBs left at this juncture, and if the Patriots abandon the old-guys-or-bust approach at ILB, Wheeler or Bell are still there. I doubt they go Ray Rice because they'll find some pretty talented RBs as deep as the 5th. I'd definitely go Crable. |

LT and RT are not the same positions. There are ample RTs in the 4th round. Why not play McIntosh who is a good stopgap at LT untill we find one were actually willing to spend a first rounder on. If a RT is BPA at the begining of the second sure take him if not dont reach for a LT.
