Q&A with BRODIE CROYLE - 8/21

Q&A with BRODIE CROYLE - 8/21

Aug 21, 2008, 1:41:47 PM

Q: How important is this third preseason game?

BRODIE CROYLE: “It’s important for us. The first two games you kind of work on specific things and the third game you bring it all together. We want to go out there, have a good showing and put some points on the board. We’ll see what happens.”

Q: Is it important for you to get scores in the end zone and not just field goals?

CROYLE: “Yeah. We want to get in the end zone. Three points has its place, but touchdowns are what it’s all about. That’s our game plan.”

Q: Are you guys going to mix up the offense a little bit?

CROYLE: “You know we are. We kind of worked on some different things the first week. Last week we wanted to emphasize some things. This week we bring it all together and start getting ready for game action.”

Q: What would it mean if WR Will Franklin wasn’t there with you guys?

CROYLE: “I don’t know anything about what just happened. But I would assume he would be out there. If he isn’t, you know, somebody else has to go.”

Q: Have you seen a preseason with so many injuries?

CROYLE: “You know it does seem like that. It’s a violent game and things happen.”

Q: What do you think about the weather? Are you afraid a hurricane will come through Miami?

CROYLE: “I didn’t know anything about that. Thanks for bringing it up though.”

Q: Where is your confidence level?

CROYLE: “I feel pretty good. I feel good in the new offense, I feel good with the line. We’re still developing it with the receivers. I feel good right now. I feel good about where we’re at. We just have to continue to build on what we did the first two weeks.”

Q: What has been the biggest change in the offense from last year?

CROYLE: “Nothing we did last year we do this year. We have the checks now and we just kind of line up and go. It’s not about trying to trick people with motions; it’s about getting in better plays. It’s really no comparison.”

Q: Is the focus this week on getting the passing game going?

CROYLE: “You know, it’s more on just the all-around. The first week we threw it pretty well, the second week we focused on the running game and this week is a matter of tying it all together and getting some points that way.”

Q: Who’s smarter, you or C Rudy Niswanger?

CROYLE: ”(Laughs) Rudy. I’m not even going to argue that one. He’s probably one of the smartest cats I’ve ever met.”

Q: How’s he doing?

CROYLE: “He’s been doing awesome. I was talking to (Quarterbacks coach) Dick (Curl) the other day. All training camp and ever since we’ve been back he’s had one mental mistake the whole time. That tells you how smart he is, but he’s also physical and big and good also.”

Q: Where you’re from, you’re not real smart if you go to LSU right?

CROYLE: ”(Laughs) I don’t want to start that firestorm.”

6 x 3 = 18. yeah, that's about right! We don't want no arena league score ... let's keep it under 20.

Why is there always a hurricane when we have to go to Miami? Remember in '05 when we had to play on a Friday?

I'm glad we're actually hearing that the Brodie/Chiefs actually WANT to score TD's. I can't remember if I saw one quote from last year saying anything about wanting to keep the scoring high.

Q&A with BRODIE CROYLE - 8/21

Aug 21, 2008, 1:41:47 PM

Q: How important is this third preseason game?

BRODIE CROYLE: “About as important as the first 2 and the 4th one”

Q: Is it important for you to get scores in the end zone and not just field goals?

CROYLE: ?No Rhonda, it's not. Not important at all. A touchdown is worth twice as much as a FG so no it's not important. How did you become a sports reporter again?”

Q: Are you guys going to mix up the offense a little bit?

CROYLE: “You know we are. Instead of Run Run Pass Punt, we might Run Pass Pass Punt or Pass Pass Run Punt. Hell if things get really ****ing nuts we might Run Run Run Punt, either way.......WE WILL PUNT on 4th down, make no mistake about it.”

Q: What would it mean if WR Will Franklin wasn’t there with you guys?

CROYLE: “It would mean that we are minus 1 WR. Do the math fatass.”

Q: Have you seen a preseason with so many injuries?

CROYLE: “I just almost turned completely reeruned when I had to listen to the context of that sentence, do they have a J-school at All You Can Eat Buffet University?”

Q: What do you think about the weather? Are you afraid a hurricane will come through Miami?

CROYLE: “The Hurricanes haven't been good since Ken Dorsey left their program. Are you afraid of the 7th Floor Crew?”

Q: Where is your confidence level?

CROYLE: “What are you a shrink??? How high is your cholesterol level???”

Q: What has been the biggest change in the offense from last year?

Oh not much has changed other than the fact that we SPENT ALL OF ****ING TRAINING CAMP LEARNING A NEW SYSTEM AFTER REPLACING OUR FORMER OFFENSIVE COORD. Other than that nothing has changed.”

Q: Is the focus this week on getting the passing game going?

CROYLE: “Sure why don't I just report to the whole world what exactly our gameplan is going to be.”

Q: Who’s smarter, you or C Rudy Niswanger?

CROYLE: ”Random question #50,000 for you Rhombus Moss...........next question please”
