Here were Brodie's 3rd down situations yesterday:

3rd and 4
3rd and 5
3rd and 7
3rd and 3
3rd and 1
3rd and 5
3rd and 1
3rd and 8
3rd and 7
3rd and 4
3rd and 6

None over 8 yards. 7 out of 11 were 5 yards and shorter.

The gameplan did nothing but protect him, but our passing offense (including Jamaal Charles as a blocker) will still take weeks to develop. I thought everyone knew this but apparently not.

Or, the glass is half full and 7 of 11 were 5 yards or greater which puts them in a known passing situation.

How many runs on first down outside of the 2 minute drill with Huard?

They ran so much to minimze Brodie's exposure to the pass rush and keep him out of 3rd and long. Those are manageable 3rd downs, and do not force the QB to take 5 and 7 seven step drops. After what happened in the game it should have been obvious why they chose this strategy - but we are still chock full of "Herm must be fired for not throwing more" threads.

And people here can't recognize that the right side of the offensive line is absolutely pathetic in run blocking and pass blocking.

And it doesn't help when your so-called #1 receiver drops four easy passes.

This team has many problems and they all could not be solved in one offseason.

It's almost like people here expected the Chiefs to win 10 games this season.

I still think the team will be much improved in the 2nd half of the season, and the win total will surprise you - but it'll take time. I'm amazed that people are out of patience after a close game in Foxboro Week 1. I'm sticking with a prediction of 7 wins, but Croyle's injury is a big setback. They almost definitiely need to beat the Raiders next week to meet my projection.
