Let me fix your analogy for you...

You've had a handful of conversations with the twentysomething and you've learned she isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. You're willing to overlook glaring personality flaws though despite her good looks. You keep telling all of your friends you've only had 6 conversations with her. Nevermind the fact that she stared at a carton of Orange Juice for hours because it said "concentrate".

You can keep pretending she isn't dumb as a box of rocks, but ultimately you know time won't fix her.
She's just not the one.

But you've never been in love...
So, you're bound to fall in love with the first Platinum Blonde ditz you run into.
