Tamba Hali - Disappointment?

The Chiefs 2006 first round pick, selection #20 overall, is now in his 3rd season as a starter.

Has he failed, met, or exceeded your expectation of him so far in his career?

He's met my expectations which were essentially pretty average. I didn't see much in him when he started (other than good effort) and there wasn't a single person on this board who didn't think I was nuts. In fact I think I was close to getting banned for such blasphemy.

He has no moves and no quickness off the ball. I'm not sure what this board expected.

There were several people who agreed with you.

And no, I wasn't one of them.

I didn't expect great things, but I did expect better.

Really? Read that entire thread and point out ONE post that didn't think I was off my rocker when I said Hali was nothing special.

I wasn't referencing that thread.

There were a number of people who didn't have high expectations, you just happened to get the people who disagreed with you responding in that thread.

Well, who would you have drafted instead? Cromartie was off the board. Nearly everyone else picked closely after him hasnt done much except Addai and we didnt need a RB.

Santonio Holmes?

Its not like we were rich at WR back then either....

* 85 Rod Gardner
* 82 Dante Hall
* 81 Chris Hannon
* 87 Eddie Kennison
* 18 Samie Parker
* 80 Jeff Webb

or even DeMeco Ryans.. but at this point its all hindsight 20/20

I'm going to say met because he is what I thought he was, that however doesn't mean as a 1st round pick it's a good pick.

We know you would have traded up to snag Cromartie right??

I wish the Chiefs would have done this more over the years to be honest. Traded up.

Thats how they snagged Gonzalez. Some years (like in 06) the draft isnt as deep and if your drafting 20-25, all the impact players are gone.
