Uhhh, Mecca was agreeing with you. He was stating that if Lilja was able to start for the Colts he should have at the very least been a backup here.

The Chiefs have in general had very very little foresight when it comes to making decisions, it's been that way for a long time.

Olinemen generally play at a high level for a long time, those are guys that should get 2nd contracts...RB's and CB's shouldn't....this is a team that paid guys like Eric Warfield and Jerome Woods.

Like I said, it's obvious Carl only wants to take care of Chiefs business when he has too.

I think that has how he has been since Marty left. He will do whatever he can to pacify the fans, sign Vermeil, or Surtain, bring back Edwards, making negotiating with Priest and LJ a spectacle, etc.

I just woke up on the wrong side of the couch this morning I guess.

Lilja is the one that really hurts. We'd have three serviceable lineman right now instead of just two. That makes a hell of a difference. It's gonna be damned hard to fix this line in just one more offseason.

Anyone complaining about Tait just hasn't been paying attention, when another team pays left tackle money + some to get a right tackle, well, you just don't match that offer.

I AM paying attention...we are 30 million under the cap...Tait and Lilja would take about a third of that - but the line is fixed.

You certainly DO match the offer. People making decisions like you just did are the reason we have lost 12 in a row.

! Lilja I'll give you, but RT is a lot easier if you have a GM that is worth a crap, and at that time, we were at the cap.

What makes that one sting even more is him being a local kid.

I honestly think Herb Taylor would be a better right tackle. Move Mac back to left and backup Albert, and give Taylor a shot at starting at right. Really, what do we have to lose?

Yup, I want them to give one of the young guys a shot, McIntosh is just embarrassing and going to get someone killed.

Were we $30 million under the cap when Tait's signed that contract in 2004?

You're absolutely right. Not giving John Tait LT money to be an 'ok' RT is the exact reason we've lost 12 in a row. The dumbassery on this board is, at times, epic.

I wouldn't exactly say Tait is an 'ok' RT, he was pretty dominant over there, and has been good at LT in CHI.

That being said, what is the statute of limitations for b!tching about player moves? Where's the Joe Horn thread?
