The real power lies with those that have the money, the alumni that want to bring their kids to their alma mater to enjoy a football game. Those seats are worth a lot of money, and the alumni will pay more for those seats than the students can.

I doubt it. The tickets are available to anyone who buys a student sports pass. They don't guarantee a seat, however. If they decrease the number, you'll see an increase in price. I guess that's fair if you try to legislate your morality on others.
