I can understand where you are coming from. My daughter is almost two and I really can't have her around when my friends are over because they cuss like sailors and she is like a tape recorder. However, I don't ask them to change their behavior. I have come to a point where I only invite them over when she is out with mom or staying at Grandma's. I also know eventually she will hear it, pick a word up, and I will have to explain right from wrong. There is no way I can protect her from never hearing a bad word. She will hear them from me soon enough

I obviously don't have the same stance on cursing you do. So I understand you have your right to feel this way. Language doesn't bother me generally though and I'm not really sure why you would think "ripping a bloody head off" or "ripping a ****in head off" are different? They both present a violent image that isn't necessarily for a childs ears. I also don't understand how threatening physical violence on someone who says **** in front of your kid is a good example either. To be honest, I doubt they even understand what they are saying unless you tell them. I hear chants on games all the time that I can't make out.

I definately wouldn't ask someone at a game to watch their language because that happens at any sporting event. Most people have a few drinks, let loose and the last thing they are thinking about is watching their mouth. You should just have the conversation with your kids and tell them to ignore it. If you say they talk about kids using bad language then you have obviously influenced them and they can ignore it. If it's that big of an issue you shouldn't bring your kids to a game. Whether you like it or not it will never stop. If you as a parent decide that an enviroment isn't appropriate for your kids then keep them out of it. You can't expect the World to change for you.

Just accept that you don't understand a parental perspective. All you know is what you've experienced as YOU. You aren't a parent. Those of us that are parents don't expect you to understand what we do and why we do it. But a little courtesy isn't too much to ask.

If you really cared about your kids you'd take them out of the situation instead of asking others to change. It's the simplest and least complicated route to accomplishing your objective - protecting your children.

Instead, you want to have your cake and eat it too.

Claythan kind of has a point here. While I think it's rude for someone to disregard a request to watch their profanity around children, you have to realize that they paid for their ticket. They have as much of a right to be offended at the thought of you asking than you do by them not submitting.

Likewise, that you've forgotten the non-parent mentality.
