My Coaching Wishlist

Since it looks like we are cleaning house, here is my list of coaches i hope we pursue. First off let me say the hell with Bill Cowher, we need someone that is a up and comer and totally is outsider from the chiefs organization.

1. Jim Schwartz - DC, Tennessee Titans
2. Josh McDaniels -OC for the patriots
3. Lane Kiffin
4. Ron Riveria -DC for the chargers
5. Rex Ryan -DC for the Ravens

Assistant coaches and coordinators seem to be a lot of luck and a big roll of the dice.

For example, last year Chris Palmer came in as QB coach of the Giants and Eli emerged. Before that he helped develop Romo in Dallas. You'd say wow, the guy is great. But his two stops prior as OC/QB coach he "developed" Carr and Couch. I'm not sure I would have ever given him the shot that Dallas and the NYG's did, but I bet they are glad.

I would say Reeves coached that team well and certainly helped develop Elway along the way. He also turned Chris Chandler into a SB QB, no small feat. He's coached in FOUR Super Bowls. Not only does he specialize in offense, but he also knows the importance of defense in that he's drafted players such as Keith Brooking, Patrick Kearney, Karl Mecklenburg, Tyrone Braxton, and Steve Atwater to name a few.

Reeves actually PLAYED QB in college and then became a quality HB for the Dallas Cowboys for eight years time. He then went on to serve under Tom Landry as an assistant. Reeves, might not be the perfect candidate, but he certainly identifies talent well and can develop them in the process. He might be a good fit, to at least get us turned into the semblence of an NFL team, while developing our players for the long haul. Reeves is a good foundation coach.

Sean Payton??? the guy calls the dumbest ****ing plays. has probably cost his team 2 wins this year. too reckless with the playcalling IMO. won't run the ball, and tries too hard to FORCE big plays(instead of letting them come naturally), which causes turnovers. didnt we have that already with vermeil?

This needs team needs discipline like a rapper needs tattoos.
Talent evaluation, drafting, and quarterback development is also seriously lacking.
Cowher is the one guy who can instill discipline and motivation while have the cache of bringing in a solid QB coach and assistants. This team makes the Raider gig look easy.
A no-name coach with a bunch weak-ass assistants will keep this vicious cycle-of-sucking going.

Garrett has all the weapons in the world and no idea how to properly utilize them. He's focusing way too much on Owens, and not enough on Barber and Jones.

I don't care how bad Brad Johnson is, there's no excuse for that performance yesterday against that defense.

yeah, garrett is the most over rated person - player or coach - in the nfl....

i'd rather have Spags from the Giants, if we're taking a shot at a coordinator....

Not a bad overall record and can win in the playoffs. Baltimore/old Cleveland was pretty bad before he got there. He did get things turned around and delivered a SB trophy in his second year. And, he's an offensive coach that also fielded a fair D as well.

The guy's had a year off to recoup. Might be worth a look.

Jim Schwartz from Tennessee is my choice, here is why:

1) Tennessee went through a complete rebuild just like the Chiefs have done, they gutted that team and went with youth
2) Haynesworth has become the best DT under his watch (Dorsey)
3) Has worked under Bill Belicheck and Jeff Fisher
4) Big in statistical analysts for you baseball fans think Billy Beane's Moneyball
5) Has been a coordiantor, position coach, pro and college scout, and quality control. Basically he has been all the positons on a staff

Just read up on him, you get more and more impressed the more you read into him.
