OH GOD NO! MARTY AND CARL SPOTTED HOBNOBBING PRIOR TO JETS GAME!

This is terrible. It could be foreshadowing for Marty to replace Carl. I'm scared. Hold me.

I want to win playoff games and go to superbowls....

If Marty comes back that dream will forever be shattered as long as he is in the organization...

I honestly think Marty could've easily been in a couple of Superbowls?

No doubt in mind, he has had his share of misfortune.

Byner fumbling at the goaline late in the game versus Denver? Had he scored Cleveland wins that game.

When your kicker "missy" linn Elliott misses 4 fgs against the Colts you lose the game. Hemakes those FG's Chiefs beat the Colts and possibly would've gone to the bowl?

I'll always have a special spot in my heart for Marty. And I wouldn't even mind having him as a coach.
As a GM, I wouldn't hate it, but I would also be a little apprehensive for one reason.
Marty always liked to say he wanted to build a strong 53-man roster, top to bottom, meaning (to me) that he'd spend less on the top tier guys so he could spend more on the backups, making us have decent depth, but sacrificing the top. I don't think he followed through much on it, but I distinctly remember that philosophy being said by him many times.
While depth is important, and not overspending on free agents, I think you have to shell out for a few game changers, and it scares me that he'd go down that road. I could be wrong. Maybe he'd go down that road, and then sprinkle in a few big name guys, like the Pats have done over the years...but it does scare me a bit.

But, to me, who became a Chiefs fan in the early to mid 90s, Schottenheimer is as much the definition of the Chiefs in my mind as DT, Neil Smith and good defense was.

Yeah, and despite the fact that said kicker was shanking XP's in Miami and Oakland, the dumb sonofabitch refused to sign someone else.

He also refused to pull a horribly ineffective Steve Bono for Gannon in that Divisional game.

Just because Marty is better than Herm doesn't mean that he should be allowed anywhere near a modern NFL team. How many times do we have to hire retreads?

That's one gnarly looking hand in the photo. Maybe it's a witch trying to undo the curse of Carl Peterson.

And he decided to play Grbac over Gannon in the 98 playoffs....
