ESPN says Pinkel is a consideration for Washington job

It's pure speculation. Won't happen.

Maybe if Pinkel was 45 or even 50. But at 56, looking at retirement inside of ten years from now?

His wife has stated publicly that he doesn't have the energy for another rebuilding job.

So has Pinkel.

His mentor, and biggest tie to Washington, Don James, has said Pinkel isn't an option, as recently as a month or so ago.

Doesn't mean Pinkel won't use this as a little bit of leverage to get raises for himself and his assistants, though.

Washington has better history and similar long-term potential (though it only has one big dog to jump rather than two, that is balanced out by the split conferences), but in the short-term - what Pinkel will look at - it isn't close.
