I hear there's this "rookie wall" players hit about this time their first year.

And damned near 1/2 our team is rookies, so...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

oh, blow a goat.

every QB we've had has looked like crap with no improvement under Curl with the exception of Thigpen ... and thus far Thiggy has been doing it on mostly guts and athletic ability.

you want to blame Herm instead of Curl ... fine

but it's still the combination of curl/herm that has killed more QB's than Jack-the-Ripper did Ho's

I don't know how you can even come close to knocking the fact he hasn't won any games with the defense we field every week.

Do I think he's the longterm answer? I'm not sure.

Would I feel comfortable with him going into the 2009 season as the starter? Absolutely.

If it works, don't change it. It's a rule of thumb. When the Chiefs did the buttsex offense, meaning running the ball up right behind the center's ass, it surely was working, was it?

Look, our PPG has increased with the new style of offense, compared to the buttsex offense.

We're moving the ball, which is great, regardless of what offensive formations/gimmicks, etc. We just can't stop anybody worth a damn.

The guy just tightens up, either throwing the ball at WR's feet, under throwing them, or overthrowing them.

And anyway unless we have the 1st pick we won't be having a QB debate, but if that happens the Chiefs shouldn't pass on a QB due to Thigpen that's my simple point.

Ditto.

Draft a QB and go into the season with Pigpen as the starter...

The Dline, where Herm has used the majority of his high draft picks...think about that.

I would much rather THIS staff picking than the staff that was here the five years prior.

Hali, Bowe, Dorsey and Albert.... pretty solid group of first rounders.

McBride, Pollard, Flowers..... very solid second round.

Croyle, Tyler, Charles, Morgan, Cottam.... again, pretty good. The one guy that is a problem is Croyle, and he has played pretty well when healthy.

The Chiefs have had three very solid years of drafting. That is the ONE thing that this staff has done well. In fact, that is one of the biggest reasons I think he should come back for one more year.

Yet, our defense has six sacks so far. You tell me what's the problem here. You tell me.

This discussion of Thigpen having issues/offensive gimmicks, etc, is bullshit.

I was a supporter of Stafford at one time, but I hope to god we stay far away from him.
