What are the requirements to get hired at WPI?

I mean, a 50/50 chance....Athan must have some real inside connections.

The only players that ever made Guns "system" work were elite pass rushers and corners, I'd like to see what scheme wouldn't work with that.

His system is garbage. Why is it that Gunther's "system" was only ever good every other year when he was actually a capable coordinator?

You'd think after all this time we'd really never see anyone defending Gunther again, or Herm really, yet it still happens.

I'm not defending him. I am saying he is being told to run a cover 2 defense and I don't think he knows how. And he doesn't have players to play his style of D which is blitzing backs a lot.

That is all I am saying. Agree or disagree, fine. But I on record saying Gun has to go.

And it would crack me up after a game the D would blow, he would sit there and brag about how the opposing team's OC would tell him "we idn't have a clue of what you were doing, it was confusing".

I am still wondering if he took those statements correctly?

No, but Gun is somehow a coaching legend in KC, and can do no wrong with about half the fans.

I'll preface this by admitting I haven't bothered to read the thread - but I have a question.

Since Clark Hunt has publicly said that the new GM will have some input on whether Herm is retained, how can this ****stick Athan "report" that there's a 50/50 chance he WILL be retained - when one of the decision makers is TBD?

I could see the a new GM this year with Herm having another year with the team. I don't see us hiring a GM in the next 2-3 weeks. The coaching carousel will start the first of January with the better HC canidates getting snatched up quickly leaving the prospects rather picked over by the time we have a GM established and ready to start a coaching search. Add in the GM will be rather busy working with Clark on restructuring the front office suits and such. Sorta getting things in order at the top, then working on the coaching staff next year. I don't like it, but I could see this scenario play out.

Unless we hire a GM in the next two - three weeks that has a HC prospect that he can grap rather easily. For example a GM from a team that could bring a OC or DC from his former team as HC.
