I don't understand why anybody would want to coach for the Jets right now. Their front office is completely dysfunctional. They pushed Mangini out the door for their own failures, and their GM basically had it implied to him that he would lose power so that the team could go after Cowher. To my understanding, the players were pissed about them getting rid of Mangini.

I hate teams that function like this and I'd hate for them to pull in a guy like Spagnuolo.

You make good points, but I'd put up with it for 2-5M greenbacks. Aren't most coordinators still making considerably less than the HCs? [Unless of course, you work for Dan Snyder.]

Rumors
REPORT: SPAGS TO THE RAMS
Posted by Mike Florio on January 17, 2009, 1:54 p.m.

At a time when no one seems to know what the Rams will do by way of hiring a new head coach, Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch does.

Miklasz, a veteran of the Rams beat, says that Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is getting the job.

“Spagnuolo will be the new head coach of the St. Louis Rams,” Miklasz writes. “The Rams and Spagnuolo are currently negotiating the terms of his contract and indications are that we can expect the announcement of the hiring later today.”

There’s no equivocation in the report. Time will tell whether it’s accurate.

Guess you weren't around to watch the Chiefs do this yearly from about 1975-1988.
