Just finished "Executive Reprieve" written by my brother.
Philip Childs. http://www.amazon.ca/Executive-Repri.../dp/1424143535 Typical James bond style advanture. IMO about 100 pages too long. Wrap it up already It was really cool knowing exactly where the places mentioned around my home town in the book were written about. Over all , I give it a 3 out of 5 for his first attempt. It would have gotten a 4, but the editing was that bad. Not a page without a typo, some with 3-5. Same on you Publish America. Without revieling too much of the plot, if your a fan of James bond, and Richard Macrinko, it'll be a bathroom reader. Not up there with my Cussler, or Higgans collection, but a great time waster while I was waiting for the boat.

Fuku is depressing shit, but Diaz's prose had me smiling the whole time. God, that guy's style is FANTASTIC!

I just finished House and Philosophy, which was pretty good.
A few days ago I started Malcolm Gladwell's third book, Outliers. |

I'm beginning a post-colonial literature kick. First up:

I just started Next by Michael Crichton. Only 50 pages in but so far so good, what you expect when you open one of his books. It appears I'll be learning a lot about genetics over the next few hundred pages.

I'm reading Infinite Jest and One L. I've heard a lot about Wheel of Time, though. Any good?

I have a co-worker reading it, but I didn't know if it was good because she is a sappy girl or it was actually good. Might have to pick it up.

I just finished the second of the Star Wars/Thrawn series. Third one's on deck. Sort of like the Dune books written by Herbert's son - nothing earth shattering, but entertaining.

I don't know if anyone is into psychology, but these seem like two good books. I haven't read them yet but they're on my buy/read list:
Born on a Blue Day Embracing the Wide Sky Both are by Daniel Tammet Here's a link to his wiki, and there's a great documentary about him: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Tammet
