The earlier comment by Woody Paige...

The comment wasn't made by Woody Paige, but by a poster on his site. Thus far, it seems we have nothing buy Athan whispering "Shanahan" into a drunken Jack Harry's ear and Kyle Shanahan's comment at a mall.

We're the victim of "traveshamockery".

It's an OM thing.

Nick had nothing to do with Jack's report.

But, again, I will quote the report we referenced weeks ago on our website.

Quote:
Shanahan was at least partially fired in Denver because he wanted to hold on to Bob Slowik as defensive coordinator, but his real undoing may have been his dual role as Broncos Head Coach and Executive Vice President of Football Operations. Shanahan had absolute power, and it absolutely destroyed Denver’s defense.

That may not be a problem in Kansas City. Per an NFL source, Shanahan has made it known through “third-party channels” that he’s interested in the Chiefs’ job but would not require total control of football operations as he did in Denver. Can you imagine the perfect pairing of Shanahan and a general manager who could pluck the right defensive talent from the draft, while assisting in the search for the right defensive coordinator?
There is substance to this. The article is over two weeks old. Since then, Shanahan's name has continued to pop up in reports on our premium forum. No other coach has received nearly as much play. Certainly not Todd Haley.

That means exactly nothing.

Did it mean nothing when Pioli's name was doing the same thing for weeks leading up to the GM hire?

Warpaint was hardly unique in suggesting Pioli was a candidate for the Chiefs' GM position. Now if Athan is right about this when all the "legitimate" media says there is no story, then kudos to him.

Except that wasn't what we were doing.

When people thought it was a longshot we were reporting that it was looking more and more likely by the day.

Given the similar nature of the Shanahan reports we've been receiving, there's more to this than Jack Harry and tom foolery from the Orange Mane.

Nick always waivered between 50/50 and 75/25 that Pioli was coming. It went from 50/50 to 75/25 to 50/50 multiple times.

You mean like this article from Dictator Carl's sex toy Athan from December 29th, titled "Pioli Beyond Chiefs Reach?", link:
http://kan.scout.com/2/825366.html

Let's pull out some quotes from Athan's gem of an article:

"Apparently, Kansas City is not high on his list of places to jump to, according to a well-placed NFL source."

"It appears that Pioli has eyes for only one job and it's not in Kansas City"
