Gunther wasn't much better under Vermeil. No cover 2 there, he got a ton of free agents and Surtain through the trade, and top draft pics. Plus DV basically let him run the defense while he focused on offense. What's the excuse there?

That is a good question, I don't remember what it was. But I am sure DV probably took the blame for the whole deal, unlike the current asshole.
