Rumor from Shanahan's son

I talked to Kyle Shanahan last night, Mike's son. I ran into him at Cherry Creek Mall in the Oakley Store here in Denver. He said his dad is going to coach this year and most likely for the Chiefs. There is one other team out there that could land his Dad, but KC is closer to Denver and Shanahan would like to be as close to Colorado as possible. Anyway, take it for what it's worth.

DomCasual was the poster on the Mane that brought it up, Garcia has not said anything in the thread that would make you think he was part of the game. Dom made a great post in the thread over their regarding this thread.

I actually felt kind of bad about having made light of the situation. I like most of the folks at ChiefsPlanet, and I know we would have our own feeding frenzy here if the roles were reversed. I shared what I know over there, and I'm going to bow out of this whole "game."

What I feel worst about is having said anything that could tarnish Garcia's reputation there. I think they assume that he made that stuff up about running into Kyle. My understanding is that it happened just as he said. In fact, I think he actually withheld a few things, because Kyle asked him not to share them.

You guys do what you want - I'm not judging anyone. I just think I'm going to take the high road from here on out. Do unto others, and all of that.

Garcia is fine in my book, the more I look at it, my guess is he is not trying to pull a prank.

1) Garcia and Taco John are mortal enemies. They had a falling out about a year ago; and rumor has it, they can't be in the same room together now. I seriously doubt Garcia would participate in a game suggested by Taco John;

2) Garcia is something of a trust fund kid. He lives in a house he inherited from his grandfather (guy invented a dental implant, or some damn thing), and he lives just up the street from Shanahan's house (the old one - not the ginormous one he's building);

3) Garcia and Kyle Shanahan both went to Cherry Creek High School. I think Garcia graduated two years before Shanahan, but they know each other. Garcia loves to tell this story about how he almost accidentally took Kyle Shanahan's finger off in shop class. It's certainly not unthinkable that they could run into each other in a mall, and have a cordial conversation; and

4) I've heard before that Kyle Shanahan is a bit of a blowhard. Apparently, Kubiak almost didn't hire him, because he worried about Kyle's problems with indiscretion. For example, one of the first things Kyle did after getting hired in Houston was to tell the Houston media that he and Chris Simms got each other's names tattoo'd on their ankles. He doesn't seem to have a lot of common sense in his interaction with the public.

So, Garcia's story is far from implausible. I did get a little bit of a chuckle about how it spread like wildfire in this thread. Nevertheless, I think there's at least a decent chance it's true.

Nice try. Yours and all Mangers' credibility is shot due to "traveshamockery". I understand it's a game, but how am I to know where it stops?

I would have suggested you limit this game to MB's you never plan to post on again. I realize you or TJ or GB will probably have something smart to say in response to this post, so I'll likely have to place you on ignore.

Except for kaylore. He seems pretty funny.
