I'm all for this as long as there is a sure thing. The Ryan Leafs of the world do a number on a franchise.

Picks at other positions rarely miss. 98% success rate. Ryan Sims is the only bust at a position outside of QB in the top 10 in the last 10 years.

Oh yeah, it's like playing with house money. Nobody ever misses at the top of the draft. Unless they gamble on a quarterback. Risky!

Huh?

The Broncos just released a top-ten fbust from the 2003 yesterday. And I don't know anyone who thinks Vernon Gholston is anything but a bust. Players like Robert Gallery I'd throw in as bust-adjacent at the least.

No kidding! Doesn't he know you need 5 pro-bowl O-linemen and 11 pro bowl defenders first. And then only if the 2 WR' are HOFers, along with the FB, TE and RB.... then and only then would you consider getting a franchise QB. Unless there is a kicker on the draft board that might be a better choice!

It would have been less risky had Tebow come out. Then if he had failed as QB you could have turned him into the most rediculously high paid fullback ever.

An idiot? He spoke the truth. You can win without a franchise QB, it's been done several times. It's just really ****ing hard.

Or is my sarcasm meter failing me?

Oh please, he's just one of these new-fangled offensive-minded coaches that likes to spread the field and use gimmicks to win games instead of play real hard-nosed defensive football.
