I've always wondered the point of that. I have a hard time seeing how Kiper would have any real influence over any team's draft board, with the amount of time and money the teams spend on their scouting.

Isn't the story that CP just took Ryan Sims out to dinner when he came in for his visit? Liked him so much they didn't bother to scout. The NFL is wising up, but its a process and not everyone(Al Davis) has followed suit.

If I remember right, that was Eddie Freeman, because Carl Peterson, you know, had a great instinct for second-round picks and didn't need data.

Sims was the one where Dick Vermeil called his friend John Bunting and John Bunting gave Sims a rave review, thereby showing that nobody who has ever come into contact with Dick Vermeil knows anything about defense.
