This shouldn't matter to Pioli since Sanchez has done two things.

1. He performs in games.
2. He chose to come out and perform at the combine.

Yeah, I think the excitement over passing drills is misguided.

How he throws in game situations >>>>>>>>> how he throws in an awkward situation where there's no rush and he's in shorts

It's just not that important.

You do realize that you are talking to an audience who wants him to fail and will take a throw that he makes to any scrub and think that is more important than the entire Rose Bowl.

Actually, I want to draft a QB that doesn't have a million question marks, and that can make basic throws

Do you want a QB that excels in game situations or practice?

Obviously game situations. It's just too bad that we only have 16 of those, many against poor talent, to judge him on. It would have been nice to see him stand out in these drills.

If 16 games don't provide a large enough sample size for you to judge him on, why are you getting worked up over a few passes in a non-game situation today? Don't you think that is irrational?

All I hear about his how 'talented' the kid is. He didn't show that today. Against air, and in shorts, the 'pressure' was too much for him. He missed throws high and low and looked tight.

Oh, and I didn't see this 'strong arm' that everyone talks about. He came in with some question as to his arm strength.... I think those questions still remain.

Show me a scouting report that questions his arm strength.

???

The "pressure" got to him? What pressure? He wasn't in pads, he didn't have 300 lb linemen trying to rip his head off, it wasn't the 4th quarter of a game.....if anything, it shows he doesn't do well in awkward, non-game situations, and even that is a HUGE reach considering everyone is making conclusions based on one day of practice.

Actually, you have a bunch of guys that are trying to justify Sanchez as the #3 pick.

There is NO ONE that would say that he did a good job in those drills. I think he needed to do better.

He certainly isn't doing much to win over his critics.

Would you draft Pat White to be your franchise QB? Because he just had a great vertical, the fastest 40 of any QB, and did a better job throwing than anyone.

Combine for WRs and RB=paramount

The only part of the combine that matters for QBs are interviews and the Wonderlic.

Flacco managed to elevate his status with great throwing sessions last year though.

It still is important.
