Matt Cassel: Good or Bad?

We may as well have an easy point of reference for people to be able to come back and eat their crow when this all pans out. Everyone always says I knew it all along. Step up and put it down.

I don't think a 2nd round pick is terrible, but I don't think Matt Cassel will pan out in KC. I'll put it down right here, right now. And now I'll start praying I'm wrong.

Forget the trade. The only thing I want you to commit too is whether or not Cassel is a good or bad choice for QBOTF.

Curry seems to be the best choice however. He is getting all of this attention out of Wake Forrest and that is not easy to do... He is the real deal. The league is ready for its next batch of dominant linebackers. Curry is going to be a star/ household name. How good will Crabtree be though?
If Cassel is truly the guy, first priority goes to that god-awful, total shite D-line and LB Corps. Hopefully.

There's a reason he was a backup all those years. Brady threw for like 50 TDs with the same supporting cast, Cassell had less than half that. I'm not sold that Cassell is even an upgrade over Thigpen, and certainly nowhere near the value.

He's our guy, I'll back him. But I voted bad idea.

I think it was a good trade for both sides. I don't think Cassel was worth giving up a 1st round pick for and if Cassel can't cut it, you guys only gave up a 2nd round pick for him.

Then KC Johnny shows back up, and I'm reminded that I've already seen the dumbest muther.

Because every first year QB should be expected to put up record-breaking numbers in one season, and to be equally good as arguably the best QB of our generation.

If anything, Cassel's season goes to show how good Tom Brady really is. That offensive line looked pretty atrocious when you don't have a QB who is smarter than the defense.

We really ought to bring Kris Wilson back to help Cassel out.

As far as I'm concerned, I can't fault the guy for lack of experience/playing time because as a Sanchez pimp, they're both on an even playing field in that regard, though obviously Cassel's stretch is one of a professional nature.

I guess I just want to see more. Which is a good thing.

This really changes our focus on the draft, and I'm willing to bet the entire ****ing farm + tractor that trading down is now the strategy. It makes sense because as I've stated before, aside from our Corners and last years other top 3 picks( assuming Dorsey can make the shift to a 3-4 ); we have an empty roster and nary a pot to piss in.
DeathCarlSatan, if you watch that youtube highlight video, you'll notice that the play breaks down an awful lot. The Pats' offensive line is not as good as advertised and it really showed when Cassel was in the game. Looks like he has the elusiveness to run out of the pocket and also to throw on the run. There didn't seem to be a lot of plays where he checked down to multiple reads, but from the clip, it didn't look like he had a ton of time to do that.

I think we hear a lot that he has an amazing offensive line as a supporting cast. But I think even most Pats' fans realize that Brady helps that o-line a lot more than we realized.

The Giants exposed holes in the Pats line and they haven't been able to patch them up since. That said not every team is going to take advantage of that like the Giants. The Pats had some problems, but they still have a ton of weapons which for the most part Cassel was not able to use. This guy has four years on a rookie which gives him less time to reach his prime, which should be about now but he's still learning.
