Andre Smith -
Well, his workout times were unspectacular. He came in at 6-foot-4 ¼, 325 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.28 and 5.33 seconds. He had a 25-inch vertical, a 7-foot, 10-inch broad jump, a 7.88-second three-cone drill and 19 bench press reps at 225 pounds. He did the short shuttle in 4.93 seconds.

To put Smith’s workout drills in perspective, he did not post a single number that would have placed him in the top performers at his position at the combine and many of his numbers were not even close to the top 10 at his position at the combine.

Add CB Ken Lucas, Carolina Panthers, to the available free agents. I don't know if the Chiefs need a leader with their defensive back group or not. If so, then possibly the Chiefs should take a look at him. He has been very productive for Seattle and Carolina and he is 30 years old. Did Patrick Surtain provide leadership last year? Are Page and Pollard the leaders now?

I wanted Ken Lucas to be picked up by Chiefs back when he signed with the Panthers as a free agent. I'm certain he is past his prime now and would only be worth it if we could sign him to favorable team weighted contract.

Evans's decision came down to the Patriots and the Saints, although Matt Cassel was making a push for Evans to join the former New England quarterback, Vrabel, and general manager Scott Pioli in Kansas City.

"This is one of the main reasons I respect Scott," said Evans. "He said, 'I know Bill is trying to re-sign you, and I respect Bill so much, and he's done so much for me, so I'm not going to be in play.' I know Matt Cassel was pushing hard for it. We would have loved to be with Mike and Matty. But we found a great home, and I'm excited to see how it goes."

The player rep for free agent FB Leonard Weaver thinks his client should be paid like a tailback.

No wonder he hasn't taken many visits. Weaver offers third-down value and might help in short yardage in another system, but won't find anyone willing to pay him like Derrick Ward. Only the Eagles are showing interest currently.

I wouldn't eliminate him, I'd just sit on the situation a while.
He won't be paid like a Tailback so...
That's moot anyway.

Per 810...Chiefs have scheduled teleconference to announce a FA Signing at 4:30PM.

Any guesses? Their guess is Bobby Engram.
