The draft and the season need to occur before we will truly know who got the better of this deal.

Chicago just landed a franchise QB around whom they can build.
Now who is going to be Cutler's B-Marshall and E. Royal?

Cutler gets to play for the team he rooted for as a kid.

Denver and McKid just lost a young gunslinger franchise QB. Word in the local paper is that McKid doesn't want a first round draft pick QB, that he values the Brady/Cassell hard-worker, low pick (6th, 7th round) game manager QB.

One thing I know: no matter whose side you take, one month after McKid got here Cutler is gone, our locker room favorite/long snapper has been cut and replaced by the NE long snapper for no reason other than McKid likes him and there is a whole room full of free agents who signed with McKid's promise that they are in win-now mode.
The boy who would be coach had better get busy winning quick or the calls for his head will come loud and often.

If Earl Bennett turns into anything, they're looking pretty good.

Olsen at TE?

Forte?

Solid OL?

Well I guess I don't know...but the Bears have crazy depth on their offensive line now...

Olson is a solid receiving TE...but Desmond Clark is really underrated in that regard, too.

I'm not sure if they resigned Lloyd or not, but Booker was pretty decent last year, or decent enough...they are pretty weak at WR but maybe a good QB will do wonders for their mediocre receivers?

I tell you what...I still think Devin Hester has the ability to be Steve Smith light...probably not as good as Steve Smith but I think he can be a productive NFL receiver...the dude might not be the brightest but he's a football player through and through.

The Bears could get lucky and have a WR drop into the 2nd round, WR is one of the deep positions in this years draft.

If Kyle ****ing Orton can throw for 3,000 yards with that crew, they aren't THAT bad.

Living in Chicago, I have Bears games forced down my throat consistently...

Kyle Orton really isn't THAT bad...he has a plus arm and a pretty good head on his shoulders. He is injury prone, though.

He's no Jay Cutler...but he'll have a pretty long NFL career as a stopgap or backup.

Good deal for the Bears and it appears they just signed Pace to help protect him

810 is totally cracking me up, "They gave up this for Cutler and we got Cassel for a 2nd ha!'

I think I enjoyed their spiel about how Cutler sucks earlier more...
