For what this year is and for the position the Chiefs are in you honestly may be better off taking Sanchez. You go into the year with both, you see if Cassel has it or not..you see what you got in Sanchez.

And also with the spread QB draft being next year best case scenario you can deal one of them get a high pick back in what looks to be a better draft for what our team can use.

Aaron Curry isnt top 5 material yet Sanchez is? Based on what? You've only seen him play in 13 games and he's top 5?

This doesnt matter anyway, I am 99.99% sure we will NOT have the 3rd pick by the time the draft comes around. There are too many teams right now who need qbs. SF, Jets, Denver, and the Jags. Those teams will try to trade up to our spot because by the 5th pick, both Sanchez and Stafford will be gone. Stafford to Detroit and Sanchez to Seattle.

One of them is a QB and the other is an ILB. That's like suggesting that a souped-up Chevy Malibu is worth as much as a stock Mercedes E-class.

I hope to God that you are right.

Mecca like the school...so anybody from there is instant NFL success. Drafting him if there vs. trading down....meh. He could compete and we could trade him/Cassel next year. I just don't see Pioli rollin' that way.

But if one of those QB's is a franchise guy, especially if it ends up being the guy you drafted people will look back and go "it was the right thing to do"

And what if Cassel lights it up like he did last year, what have you accomplished spending the #3 overall on another QB? You think we can get a top 5 pick in next year's draft out of Sanchez should we choose to keep Cassel? Even if we could, which we wouldn't be able to, why wouldn't you surround Cassel w/ as much talent as possible this year to see what he can do?

1) That's still not a Super Bowl, and we're not equipped to run for one, and we still won't be even after this draft, even if this draft were custom-tailored to your exact specifications.

2) We've accomplished the long sought goal of looking beyond our immediate horizons( you know, like winners do ).

3) If teams are looking for a QB? Yes. Next years crop is a pile of mule dung.

Next year's QB class is awful.

Either Cassel or Sanchez would be completely tradeable in a situation like that.

And people keep forgetting that THIS year's class, after Stafford and Sanchez is complete shit as well.

Which means those QB hungry teams that don't get Stafford or Sanchez in 2009 will be waiting 2 more seasons to draft an elite QB.
