....you think Tyler Thigpen should be given a chance to "compete."

....you have anything positive to say about Carl Peterson, Herm Edwards or Gunther Cunningham.

They benched him for Doug ****in' Flutie...he averaged 5.9 YPA...he had a 67.5 QB rating...his play had totally regressed from the previous season.

He was labeled by the franchise as a bust...and everyone knew they were going to take a QB #1 overall...

Manning had his little shit fit and they still took him #1.

They should have traded Brees, they screwed that up, but getting Rivers was the right move for them. Rivers is a stud. Not to mention they got a bunch of great players in the trade for Manning.

When you're picking #1 you suck and should take the best player in the draft. They did that.

If Cassel turns into Brady nobody here would complain. People simply doubt that will happen.

If we trade him and he in fact is Scott Mitchell v 2.0 and one of the QB's available to us at 3 turns into a stud--we royally screwed up.

When you're picking #1 you suck and should take the best player in the draft. They did that.

Yeah, they did do that.

And they also (in the opinion of their franchise) had a glaring need at that position.

They benched Drew Brees for Doug Flutie. They had written Drew Brees off. Plain and simple.

If that's not considered a bust, I don't know what is.

Because someone doesn't believe Cassel is the guy doesn't make them an idiot or a non fan or some stupid shit like that.

It's still far better than people going 'Cassel is Derek Anderson part 2 I don't want him" then having the Chiefs trade for him and all of them flipping their stances in the snap of a finger.

There was a reason they drafted Manning #1 overall...they were looking for a franchise QB...because they didn't think Brees was going to pan out.

If they knew Brees was primed for a huge breakout season...they wouldn't have taken a QB...

Also, you can't compare Brees/Rivers to Sanchez/Cassel anyways.

Brees was making pennies...Cassel and Sanchez will both have ginormous contracts.

Either way, you have a short memory if you don't remember when the Chargers were drafting Manning/Rivers...because everyone was writing off Drew Brees.

The draft is a crapshoot...QB's are a crapshoot...there is a reason why Pioli has a few executive of the year awards...

Lets see how things shake out before everyone starts freaking out...Sanchez is not any more of a sure thing than Cassel.

Well personally I'll be surprised if he doesn't work out a contract before the season.

I think the Chiefs are keeping their options open in case they do end up having to take a QB at #3 and can't work out a trade with anyone...
