Tony G has cleaned out his locker

NFL Network, expecting to be traded.

**********

Per Rotoworld
NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports that there's an "80-85 percent chance" that Tony Gonzalez will be dealt to the Falcons this offseason.

Lombardi says Gonzo has already cleared his Chiefs locker in anticipation of a deal. The Chiefs lost their second-round pick in February's Matt Cassel trade and are reportedly willing to send Gonzalez to Atlanta for the No. 55 overall pick. Gonzo recently turned 33, but obviously can still play. He caught 96 passes for 1,058 yards (11.0 YPC) and 10 touchdowns in 2008.

You're only saying that because he's standing right behind you. And in front of you. Oh, and across the room too.

Shocked, actually.

For some reason, I think that LJ will be the one of the three that survive.

Mainly, because he has absolutely no trade value. They really have no reason to flat-out cut him. Might as well use him if he actually has bought in and wants to be here.

Waters, on the other hand DOES have trade value, though probably not a ton, and doesn't want to be here. Ship his ass out.

Personally, I could care less who stays/goes.

I should have added a disclaimer to that.

I really don't care who stays/goes provided that should one or more of these guys be on the roster come September, that we don't hear anymore bitching and moaning about not being dealt.

If Pioli thinks they aren't team players, or will be a distraction, ship their ass out.

Those who are willing to buy in and be productive members of a TEAM, you're free to stay.

Another reason why I think Waters is eventually gone.

Yep.

I have a really, really hard time thinking about a back who refuses to block as a team guy, though. I know the contract situation and what not, but my anger for his selfishness overrides everything else.

I understand, and can't really disagree.

Like I said, IF he's bought in. That would include blocking, in my book.

Hell, for all we know, he was never coached proper technique in picking up blockers.

I'm willing to be *skeptically* optimistic (didn't want to use all caps).

Definitely a sad day if he does end up being traded. I think Cassel would love having him around the next couple years, but totally understandable if we can get a 2nd maybe more for an older player.

I halfway expect Waters will be back, but the other two, probably not.

I don't care, really. We've been doing things the same way 20 years and have nothing to show for it. Let's let these guys put their stamp on the franchise.
