The driving age and age of consent vary from state to state.

A 17 year old having sex with his 15 year old girlfriend isn't going to jail, but when he turns 18 and she's 16, he can be busted even though they'd been sleeping together 'legally' prior to his turning 18.

An underaged girl can sleep with all the underaged boys she wants with no problems, but if sex partner #124 is 18 or older, he can be tossed into jail.

I think that's a ridiculous way to deal with the transition of child to adult. I'm not asking for access to children as sexual playthings. I've dated older women all my life, so teenagers haven't been on the menu for decades.
