Per 810 at OTA's Today... and Gretz's report...

No Brian Waters.
No Mike Vrabel.

Carry on!

So why is Zack Thomas so excited to be here?

I say Vrabel accepted the trade. If he's not going to do his job the same way he did it in New England, then yeah, he should retire. Otherwise, get his ass in the locker room and start doing that team leader bullshit we sent him in here to do

Zach Thomas is happy here because he found a team that would pay him.

He had a choice to come here - likely because he wasn't getting other offers, and a paycheck is better than no paycheck when you still want to play.

Vrabel was forced to come here.

Apples and oranges.

thomas wasn't an anchor and fan beloved player on a multiple superbowl winning team....Vrabel could easily decide he has nothing left to prove....

I thought he was a Belicheat cast-off and booby prize for the Cassel trade anyway.

There was speculation that NE was going to release him (salary) so Pioli and BB worked a deal to save him some face. I would think if he was going to retire he they would have clued him in on the transaction and he would do it then.

That being said, it is a little disappointing because the old guys were brought in to show the new guys "how to work".

Compare and contrast Waters with a supposed "cancer" like Owens:

Quote:

WR Terrell Owens was on-hand Monday as the Bills opened their minicamp this week. Owens said he believes the voluntary workouts are important.

"This time is very, very valuable because the offense is new to me," he said. "So the more I can be in-sync with the team and be around the team and really soak in and absorb all the terminology, it's going to be some different plays, but when it comes to running routes, that's second nature to me. Right now, my focus is just honing in on the plays and learning the concepts of different pass patterns. And once I get that down, I'll just go out there and play free."

Cassel is going to get killed behind that O-Line unless he learns how to read the D and throw in like .5 seconds

With Goff I wouldn't say our line is any worse than the bruised up line he played behind last year.

People are really overrating a guard's role in pass protection...

DE's get to the QB's the most, but DT's still get pressure. I think Shields played a pretty big role in protecting Green, granted not as big of a role as Roaf did.

Exactly what I was thinking. He was supposed to bring veteran leadership, so far that is not working out to well.
