The fact is Brett, Frank White, all these old school players still like to avoid the stats provided with them and would rather bunt players over, steal bases, etc. I have no doubt that Rany could probably whip out a stat book telling brett why a move is wrong and he would whip it out and piss on his stat book on the 17th green

Stats are for those not good enough to play or manage. Makes them feel part of the game. Players, Managers and Management all feel the same way. Baseball has always worked like that.
