No, I've never met him. That's awesome for him! I'm sure it was a long road. From what I've heard (and I've known a few), being a PA is not fun at all.

Do you guys still keep in touch?

We saw each other at the 10-year Shawnee Mission East (PV Kansas) reunion about 20 years ago. He hasn't been back since that I know of. He was a PA at that point but had great ideas. It has certainly paid off. It's funny but another friend made it big in that business... all from little Kansas.

Believe it or not, many successful people working in Hollywood weren't born or raised in SoCal. I wouldn't say it's a "majority" but in my experience, a large portion of people that I've known and met in every facet of film & television have been transplants.
