If you take her ex-boyfriends story at face value, a girl telling people she plans to break it off with a married guy could just as easily mean that what she really wants is for the married guy to beg her to stay and promise to leave his wife and all that. And by acting like she had enough and is ready to end it, she hopes she can get him to commit.

Obviously she was crazy if she is the one responsible, so if she went through with something like that and it didnt work, that might have set her off. If the girl is the same one who allegedly threatened him that night, that makes it even more crazy.
